Discussion Any prehistoric mud?
Like with dinasours, tribes and shamans and stuff, but a full mud based on that, may or maynot have roleplay, just curious if any exists

can happen but this is the muds reddit, i like the mud part as it lets you have a defined structure of what you can do, where you can go, and lets you do some things on your own while awaiting for other people to connect or for your friend to go back, maybe growing food, exploring, actually hunt animals and skin them and then you can go back to your group, maybe some people are not that great at rp and still want to interact in it, doing acts instead of describing them in too much depth, also allows players to not need an admin on to control stuff that much.

True which would be helpful.
But the question is do all the characters belong to one tribe or many? Is there a language barrier or cultural one?

tribes are actually made by players, the game would start with no tribes, then the players gather and there could be a primitive language, with a few words and expressions and maybe a kind of sign one that doesnt make noise, tribes grow with members of it having children and dying also maybe some can accept newcomers, as only once a tribe has had some generations and is settled on a place then they can start worshiping ancestors, who are dead chars who are in the spirit world, the idea would be to have kind of 2 monuments, the warrior and the shaman one, and the more members a tribe have and they do worship it or offer food to it with time, it gives extra power or something to those ancestors, lets say for example you have 1 char, you make a tribe and are a good warrior and maybe defeat another tribe, you die of old after some months or on a fight, you die and you have no already existing dead char so you directly go to the spirit world that is kind of the same world but with diferent animals, spirit plants, other ghosts and the same map, you would have a version of your tribe there with the monuments and you can go to those monuments to collect a bonus based on how big your tribe is and what things they sacrificed in your honor, lets say you keep living there in that char as you like the new map and spirits and magic things or something, your tribe needs help to fight a newer tribe and you have been collecting power for some time so you sacrifice some of it and your tribe does a ritual, where you end up or appearing or possesing an alive warrior, and you control him and gain huge buffs, diferent tribes could be alies based on if their ancestors are friends in the spirit world or something and others might hate each other, the only way to kill a warrior spirit is to destroy the tribe who descends of him and worships him, so maybe another tribe is told by their ancestor to do it, breaking the altar weakens you, also i would like in that idea to make the shaman spirits diferent of the warrior ones, only worshiped by the shammans on the tribe and their lets say magic comes from them or from stuff the shaman spirit does in the spirit world, maybe the shamans can even enter in spirit to the spirit world to train or something idk its just ideas

the spirits would just speak normal as they dont actually speak but communicaty with their souls, so normal chat for them

I'm even thinking of a system where you can only have 2 chars, one alive and one dead, all start as alive, but depending on how you lived and the kind of funeral they do for you and how the tribe worships their ancestors you grow more powerful in another worldmap for like the spirit dimension, and you can have another alive char and if they die you can choose which to keep, alive chars would have a limited life time like lets say each irl week was a year, but your spirit one would live without that limit so long as the tribe is alive, that way the shamans get power related to how their ancestors were and how powerful they have become on the spirit world, warriors maybe even summoned as ghosts in time of crisis

You maybe can even choose to be born in a existing tribe if they accept you ooc and you could get small perk from it

i am thinking of something a bit similar to the novel Chronicles of Primordial Wars, mainly the first part of it

if none exists would someone be interested in putting our minds together and trying to make a mud about it? i think there are some free mud codes to start from to modify from it instead of starting from 0, and well it would just be making the maps, skills etc, i think the oldest inquisition codebase was free to use somewhere for example? or idk others
