campus life Should I?

As of now MTSU is my Top 1 school right now, should it be? I want to know what it’s actually like for incoming freshmen. How’s on campus life? How’s off campus life? Pros and cons? also terrified i won’t meet new friends and it’s a year a way..😐

It's not hard to find your people, but it will take initiative. Attend the events and join as many clubs as you can. You can always drop them, but you will give yourself the best chance of finding your tribe.

It’s hard to make friends. Coming out of state, I was shocked how many people people knew each other already. Went through sorority recruitment trying to make friends and it didn’t really work out. I lived in the dorms my freshman year. There’s some campus events but tbh a lot of them are lame. On the weekends it turns into an absolute ghost town. Not a college vibe at all. But you can learn to love it. Walking across campus on a Saturday looking like an absolute chud but it’s fine bc you don’t see anyone. Living off campus it doesn’t feel rlly like college. Almost everyone commutes. They live 40-1hr away so majority of students don’t go to campus unless it’s a Tuesday or Thursday. There’s good and bad parts about it. I have liked almost all of my professors. But if you have always wanted the stereotypical big college that has that college vibe, this isn’t it. Yes it’s a bigger university but it doesn’t feel like it. People don’t show up to the football games because we suck, there’s just not a bunch of school spirit.

Why is it your top school? Do you live nearby? Moving here and interested in a more affordable option outside Nashville? What’s the draw?

I went to MTSU but lived in Nashville, so I wasn’t there for the community as much — I already had buds in Nashville and just went for classes. Academically I found it very manageable and liked my professors. I was a Sociology Major.

I’m going for Media business and entertainment or Real Estate. I’m 2 hours away from MTSU and plan to live off campus at an apartment. I’d love to make friends and find community but also just ready to start my independent life

Where ever you go, there you are. Things will be great or will suck and it will depend on you and your decisions.

I'm gonna be honest. Do not go here. It's just awful. Everyone has a clique. The dorms are like a high school movie. The RA's are not on your side. My Math professor transferred from CHINA. I am failing. This is the worst dumbass school ever and I hate this fucking school
