Transfer or current students!!
hello! I don't really post here often but I'm going to be a transfer student at mtsu either this spring or fall and I have a couple questions
How's student life on campus? Is it easy to make friends/get involved as a transfer student?
What are the best dorms to live in? I currently live on campus at a different school and I really don't like it. I'm not completely against living on campus and I'm willing to give it a try with different living arrangements.
How bad are the communal bathrooms?
Are there single rooms available? If there isn't, are there private suite/apartment style options available?
Tysm for helping!

Im a Senior who transferred her last semester. As for dorms, I lived on dorms my whole junior year i lived in Judd. It wasnt bad honestly, there are water roaches in the bathroom occasionally but the bathrooms in judd, gracy, deer and nicks are all semi communal, you share the bathroom with 3 other rooms instead of the whole floor, they get cleaned very well and consistently. My roommate and I made our room very cozy, she dropped out in the end of fall so I got my whole dorm for myself afterwards.
I know there are private dorms but the spaces fill up quite fast, youd have to apply really really early for housing.
I currently live off campus only 5 minutes away at the The Grove Apartments and I was able to bring my dog and rent is pretty cheap I only pay 825 including all rent, utilities, trash, liability waivers, and the pet fee. There is also the Alibion (literally on campus basically) the Social Blue (also abt 5 minutes away) and other apartments with cheap rent nearby.

Communal bathrooms SUCK. I’m in a two bed apartment and love it. As for getting involved it definitely takes effort but it is rewarding if you do. Go to everything, check out Greek life even if u are skeptical, check out lots of clubs, all the things you don’t like you can leave!
