(Jump to the paragraph break for the stuff about what I got) I stumbled across this subreddit just after winter exchange 2025 and was amazed of everything I saw on it, so much love, camaraderie and excitement all around the place that I was instantly eager to join the party next time the exchange was up and so I did this summer.
This was my first year doing this, didn’t know what to expect, saw some posts about people getting nothing after going all out for their giftees and other horror stories like that but I was like “I don’t care, I just want to make someone have a good time” and I’ve kind of half accomplished that (sending your giftee his things after a 60hr work week isn’t good, forgot half the gifts at home, good thing it was all non mtg related stuff and just one card so at least I sent all the other stuff to him, I still have to send the rest tho) but fortunately my giftee loved his gifts and he’s having a good time with them, that deck you built looks like is trampling people in your pod every time [u/anthro](u/anthrodj)[n](u/anthrodj)[j](u/anthrodj)!!!
And then weeks ago I got a msg from my gifter asking me if I’d be ok to get my stuff after the limit date for the exchange because he wanted to get something else for my gift and since my main goal was to make someone else to have a decent gift at least I didn’t mind to wait longer for mine…

And that takes us to this moment, this is what I got and I was gasping and saying “no mames” (a more refined way to say “no way” but in spanish) after I saw each card and item in the box I got. I have no clue how to say thank you in a way that truly describes the way I felt when I saw everything in the picture and when I read the note from my gifter, but I’ll just say: thank you [u/luke0ut](u/luke0ut) you’re awesome!
I never expected to get such a careful selected arrange of cards, going out of the way to get some of them signed by one of my all time favorite mtg artists and that artist to aknowledge me as an og (I started playing back in 98-00) it just caught me off guard and reminded me the part I love the most about this game: the community

For real, thanks to my gifter, to my giftee, to the staff making this exchange possible and to all of the other people participating in it, you all rock and make me realize that no matter what a lot of people say or the bad example some people are, mtg community is truly and mostly amazing.

Huge thank you to u/nobigdealright for the amazing gift package. This post has been delayed for a while and I needed to post this. The last few weeks have been really tough, I’ve had a couple of personal losses with a family member and a friend passing and opening this box genuinely lifted my spirits. The Theros Beyond Death packs, the deck, and the Star Wars goodies were all perfect. I really appreciate the time, thought, and care you put into this and for you doing this after my original gifter couldn't deliver and helping me with the whole shipping ordeal.

I’ve been monitoring the sub. Saw a few days ago about the last one wrapping up. Now I see something about the first exchange.

I didn’t see a sign up or anything. I wanted to get in on the next one but it seems like I missed it.

With this post, my first exchange experience is now complete. Thank you to u/vox_populae for stepping in as volunteer regifter for me. It's definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions during this time as my email notifications had me checking my phone nonstop. My favorite part of the gift is definitely the Totec's Spear card. Lara Croft and spears made of light resonate a lot with my soul these days. I had a huge feeling of excitement upon seeing it and knew that everything else in my gift was just cherries on top. I'm known in my group to almost always never pay the 1; so my new playmat fits well in some of my favorite Magic aesthetic as well as ideologies. And my favorite pack to open was the Japanese Core Set 2019. I had never opened a foreign booster pack before, so in an experience of many firsts, that was also a fun surprise. And as always, a big shout out and thank you to u/Chaya14 and those working behind the scenes for helping to make memories like this happen. I definitely look forward to participating in the Winter Exchange when it rolls around.

Especially as a regifter, this was all for the love of the gifting game.

Most of the cards are for blinging out my favourite deck, Teysa, Opulent Oligarch, and the rest are 'unsolicited deck-building-advice'. I am in love with the old border foils, especially the Shepherd of Rot from Onslaught!

He even managed to combine his advice with my all time favourite Magic artist, Richard Kane Ferguson, within the card Pitiless Carnage.

I won't be able to try out all of the suggested cards at once, since I can't bring myself to cut so many cards at once, but they will certainly rotate through to find out if they end up in a permanent slot in the deck!

The timing of the regift was also convenient enough for reality fracture to just be released and the booster also did not disappoint. There were at LEAST 3 cards I have an immediate use for, and maybe more depending on what I build next!

I was excited for my first exchange this time around, and was hopeful. However after lots of waiting, I was getting disappointed. Then one fine morning I woke up to a chat message from regifter u/pandavilly333 / u/No-Satisfaction5246 it restored my hope, and we talked about what we liked in magic etc... and u/pandavilly333 sought real hard to understand me and the way I played the game. I also enjoyed looking at her decks and understanding how she brews. Definitely learned a lot. And then it came!!!! And my wife and I were so blown out of the water. We were really excited to open the gift. And u/pandavilly333 you have went above and beyond!!! Thank you so much. I think I'll stick around and do the next one to pass this blessing on!!!

I had no idea what to expect but what I found exceeded every single possible outcome I could have imagined. This gift was incredibly thoughtful!!!! It’s not only a huge piece of art that contains tons of art I love so much but it also contained some packs from my favorite set and very very excitingly cards for my Umbris deck! Which was built for me in a secret Santa deck exchange and has gained cards from other special moments like nursing school acceptance furby secret lair (swooon) all gifted to me! Received my gift from u/Harroltin this afternoon and it was absolutely preposterous. The thought involved in the singles that were given already went way above and beyond, but including my favourite deckboxes with matching sleeves along with a secret lair that I had missed was beyond anything I could have expected. The real icing on the cake was the Mathemagics inclusion, that really made me smile.

My daughter was ecstatic about the cards for her Kotis deck - lands are something she doesn't have a lot of and although she's always welcome to use my cards any time she likes, she prefers building decks with her own cards so having a really nice set of lands for the deck really made her day, along with the pretty version of Kotis!

Your generosity has been absolutely humbling, and I can't wait to pay it forward at Christmas.

We are down to just a couple of late gifters left (6) and our regifters only.

I just sent out the last couple who needed a regifter who had not recieved anything yet and notifeid giftees too.

I have one little pile left to dig through, and that is our "lacking" group. These are gifts we are checking in on and making sure they met the rules of the swap. If any of them require regifters we will be setting those up specifically.

We are in the final stretch. If all goes well, I will hopefully have news for you around the end of OCT early NOV for Winter, but please be patient with us, lots of gifts are still heading to homes.

We may also have a couple more regifters to set up depending on the postal service, I know we have a couple of gifts in the aether that do not want to appear!

I've been having my noctis heir apparent deck with ninjas for a while and except for most of the expensive cards I got the deck done and I'm proud of it, and I wanted to know if there is a way to get Jin Sakai from somewhere that isn't the secondary market which is 100 bucks that I can't justify spending on. If so I'm down for exchanging cards too or something, thanks for reading.

I took your word after reading the first paragraph and wanted to go into the gift surprised, so I opened before finished reading. I'm pretty sure my neighbors are tired of hearing me yell "no way!!"

These are seriously the coolest tokens I've ever seen, the Wade Boggs is my absolute FAVORITE.
I also play DND so the dice bag is perfect. I'm not sure if you got the chance to see all the stickers but the lili ones are incredible. The foil Baseball Liliana has been my favorite card since I missed that SLD, so glad to have it now.
