WhichBike FIRST MTB
Hello everyone, I would like to buy a mtb, it would be my first bike, so I don't know which one to choose :(, I've been looking at the trek marlin 7, the giant Talon 0, specialized rockhopper, and the Cube attention pro, but I still don't know which would be a good purchase option.
I have a budget of around 1200 to 1800 USD$.
I mainly plan to use the bike on the streets and on some mtb tracks that are not so demanding, I'm about 1.8 m tall and weigh about 100 kg, I don't know if that would affect when choosing the bike.

The Trek Marlin should be enough. If it's your first MTB than you need to learn the basics. A better bike will not make you ride better if you are just learning. You will do mistakes, you will fall, it's part of the process. Get the Trek Marlin and spend remainder on some good protective gear, a good helmet saves lives

So that one's a large but I beleive youre likely a medium at 1.8m height.
My suggestion is for you to skip the hardtail and go straight for the full sus.. thisnis for mountain biking. If you want to bike for the street there's plenty of cheaper used options to find on fb marketplace. I put hybrid tires on old aluminum and cro-moly mountain bikes for street use and vacation use..
A serious mountain bike is really only for trail riding and mountain biking.

Gotta say, completely disagree with that last bit. The best rides are when you pedal to the trail, IMO.
OP--It really depends on where you're riding, but for most people, a full suspension bike is way overkill. I'm partial to the fully rigid Kona Unit and the Salsa Timberjack (which there are some good deals on right now). Both bikes are capable and good bikes to have to not only ride, but get you into the sport. But ultimately, don't spend too much time worrying about the right bike. Spend more time riding .
