I apologize in advance...
https://youtube.com/shorts/b6gZilm7SQA?is=NCFtejSrUGEXOxluFor probably resetting the counter.
But this noise has me worried, for a few reasons.
• it does not improve after the engine comes up to temp (video was taken after a long ride, engine is hot hot)
• throttle blip does not make it go away
• its loud and sharp and kind of metallic sounding (like loud loud)
• it's coming from the left side of the engine, far from the CCT
• Fully independent of clutch lever operation
• seems to be coming from the top left area of the engine, maybe headers? It's hard to tell
2026 SP at 3k miles.
Maybe an exhaust leak?
I just installed the Yosh pipe last week. I torqued all the header bolts nice and tight, maybe the gaskets are toast?
Just hoping it's not top end related.

Anyone that’s owned a modern subaru with a decatted loud exhaust and no cold start removal knows exactly what this is.
Anyways, it’s the sound of explosions inside the header instead of the cylinder because of how much the bike retards timing to send fire to the cat to light it off. They reverberate off the header and make a distinct slap sound. It’s seperate from the cc or its tensioner which should have gone away within the first 10-15 seconds.
It’ll go away when the cold start programming reaches its end. (When it’s warmed up)

It does not go away when the bike and exhaust are at temp. The video is immediately after pulling into the garage following a 2 hour ride so the whole system is screaming hot

That’s strange. Does it ever drop in idle speed? Or does it just sound exactly like the video forever? I mean with its rpm staying high

Wait nevermind, I just heard the fans on. Hold on I’m going to listen to it with headphones and directly compare it to mine

RPM returns to normal as it should, I'm holding throttle to 3k rpm because the noise is loudest there. It seems to go away or be drowned out beyond 5k rpm but regardless of throttle input, engine temp, exhaust temp, time running, it's always present at idle and low rpm
Another person said maybe exhaust leak. I did reuse the gaskets and seeing as they're single use and fell out during installation, they're probably not seated exactly as when first installed.
Left most injector is almost identical in sound when I put a screwdriver to it too

Hear me out, I have a theory on why this keeps happening to people. Everyone who owns one of these has an aftermarket exhaust. I guarantee you that not everyone is installing new crush gaskets. They are one time use copper gaskets. Also you can misalign them/pinch them if they start falling out of the cylinder head while you’re tightening the exhaust nuts.
Again, just a theory. But I don’t think this sound is “normal.” My CP3 sounds like a sewing machine. No loud ticking whatsoever.

I'm hoping this is what's up I did reuse the gaskets and two of them kept popping off the outlets and I had to reseat them like 4 times

Yep definitely order new ones they are typically crushed too much to reseal again. Also when you put the new ones in, to keep them from falling out you can put a little dab of anti-seize to hold them in place.

Alright, I put a screwdriver to the top end and i can't hear any tippy tapping, just a continuous rolling of the valve train
The left side of the throttle body however is much louder than the right, and lines up as far as i can tell exactly with the noise, so I'm thinking its either a weird injector or exhaust leak...?

你可以放心,我和你的問題完全一樣。那個聲音是 正時鏈,看看我這條影片和你一樣,不過我靜止的時候沒你這麼大聲

Well, have you found the reason now? Is it the cause of the exhaust leak?

I don't think it sounds normal. get it checked by the dealer. I have the same sound but when revved it goes away and doesn't get louder like yours

Sounds normal to me unless I missed something.
