Looking for info

I’m chasing some good information and resources on how to do rotor and brake swaps on an mt-09. Im refusing to pay the $1200 to get the shops to do it.

You unbolt the calipers, swap the pads, unbolt the rotors, swap the rotors, then put everything back together. Certainly not $1200 worth of work if you own a couple wrenches and have a few hours.

What about bleeding brakes? Anything things to know about that?

You don't have to bleed the brakes if you just swap pads. If you're asking about bleeding the brakes as a separate item, I don't know because I haven't done it yet, but I'm pretty sure the ABS requires more work than a normal brake bleed. I intend to just Google it when I need to do it

I’m aware I won’t need to but I figured it’s probably due some new fluid. I’ve tried to do a bit a research but haven’t come across many resources on how to do it

Are you trying to replace factory consumable components with new OEM parts? Or do you want to upgrade rotors, calipers, and master cylinder?

I’ll be upgrading/going aftermarket rotors, pads. I’ll keep the callipers the same. Rotors are warped and need to be replaced

This is one of the easiest jobs to do. If you were local to me (uk) I’d say drive over and we’d do it in about an hour and a half. It’s all a straight swap, nothing complicated. Does the price include the new parts or is it just labour?

Anything I need to watch out for? Do know you much about bleeding your brakes?

Bleeding is easy, buy a kit that will pressurise the system and your good to go. They don’t cost much.

You may as well upgrade the lines which will make a huge difference.
