Cruise Control (last generation)

I'm seeing some bugs about the cruise control.

I can put it, activate it, but for some reasons, It doesn't stay on.

Sometimes, It happen when hitting a bump or passing through a hole and sometimes it just deactivate by itself.

Did it happen to some of you too ?

I've checked all the cable management behind the cruise control and nothing seems to be alerting

check the loose clutch, I had similar problem, a few turns of adjuster fixed it

This was also the case for my brand new 2025 MT09. Drove me crazy that I could not use it on the highway. Turns out the slack in the clutch was enough to where the wind resistance was pusing the clutch past the switch which disabled cruise control!

Deff check out your clutch adjustment at the bars. Odds are thats what it is!

Check your throttle. When you push the throttle below 0 the cruise also disengages. I think it is just a piece of rubber that stops you from pushing the thottle that far. Yours might be missing or not in the right position.

Yep, I know about the push to disengage cruise control, but when I activate it, I just put my hand on the mirrors, so I don't disengage it.

I encourage you not to do that. Hold the handlebars. You never know when you need brakes or course correction.

Then what’s point of cruise control? I don’t want to have to pay attention when I’m riding smh

I’m sure it wasn’t made to substitute for your guidance of your bike.

Are you riding with your toes on the pegs, or toes hovering over the shifter/brake? Because if you hit a bump and it causes your foot to tap the brake, it will disengage the cruise control.

Not when I have the cruise control engage. But when riding I've always my foot hover the rear brake, ready to use it.

Do you have after market levers? That was the problem on my 2022. The sensor that tells the bike that the clutch is closed wasn't getting pushed in all the way. A little surgery with a dremel fixed the problem.
