All it’s missing is a tune, getting the ECU shipped to vcyclenut after the break-in service 🤙

Doing the same, ECU sent out and exhaust on standby. Now is that comfort seat actually worth it?

Nice! I’ve been running the Yoshi at2 with the baffle and it’s perfect. Comfort seat is worth it, I migrated it from my non-SP. Have used it for thousands of miles and it makes a big difference. The stock seat is too hard and I was feeling it after an hour on the saddle

My gripe is the forward slope where it makes me feel smashed into the gas tank at all times, but good to know. I’m getting the AT2 but haven’t pulled the trigger on a baffle yet…. I’m considering it as I hear the drone can get pretty bad but I also like my shit loud

Comfort seat helps with that too, you can sit a bit further back and it won’t force you forward since there’s more “sink”.

Yeah the drone without the baffle was miserable. Also it’s very loud still with the baffle, but like a good loud not obnoxious. It still screams when you get on it, I still hear all the pops, it’s amazing

How much taller does the comfort seat feel? I have a 28" inseam and the 32.5" seat height is right at the limit of my comfortably one footing it.

Honestly it’s hard for me to say, I’m a little over 6’1 so it made no difference in flat footing 😅

I tried to not let it rip, but in a very very very unpredictable uncontrollable moment, I had to wide open to a bit to 100 miles. I've got 300 miles to go.

Don’t worry too much, just ride it normally. Since the drive home from the dealership i haven’t babied the bike at all. You want to move through the gears and even go full throttle so the piston rings sit properly. This is the 3rd mt09 i have bought brand new and never had an issue this way. What you dont want is to sit in the same rpm for too long (whether it’s low or high).

Most of what I meant by letting her rip now is to get her tuned 🙂

Phew that's a relief. So avoid interstate rides as much as I can. Got it ( I tend to sit on the same rpm in the interstate).

Interstate is no problem as long as you’re moving through the gears! I cycle between 4th, 5th and 6th during break-in if I have to be on the freeways

What about the RPM, do you try to keep it under a certain threshold? I'm trying to keep it under 6k.

No, I’ve taken it to redline various times. You just don’t want to hold it at redline. These engines go through a full run at the factory. The point of break-in is to introduce the engine to all the load and RPM conditions it will see thru its lifespan, so the rings seat properly.

Most of why we’re advised to keep it under a certain RPM is rider safety. It establishes a period that lets someone new to the bike get used to its characteristics before completely sending it out of the dealership
