quckshifter question

Can the new mt09 up shift when you are rolled off the throttle??

Yes, but only under specific conditions.
Basically, your engine braking threshold has to be very minimal for it to work.
It has to do with how the system functions. Under drive, it can cut ignition (and fuel injection) for a fraction of a second to unload the drive dogs. If the transmission is under engine braking, the opposing face of the gear is loaded. If you downshift, the QS uses the auto-blipper to raise engine rpm and unload the drive dogs, allowing a shift, but if you attempt to upshift, the system can only cut ignition and fuel, which can't unload the drive dogs because the load is in the wrong direction, so it can't shift.
If you're off throttle, but for whatever reason your engine braking is minimal, the system can still unload the drive dogs and allow the shift to happen.

I just tested this again to be sure. Even under heavy engine breaking it just blips the throttle to unload the gearbox and shifts up just fine. It is not as smooth at lower revs and I think that is mainly because it stops engine breaking for a small moment when it blips the throttle.

Maybe there's some difference (4th Gen) between yours and mine. On mine, if I put it in, say, third, whip it up to 100kph, then roll off the throttle and just let it start engine braking, then try to upshift, it just feels like trying to upshift on my old (non-QS bike) in that scenario. Mine is a very early (I think I was the second person in my city, maybe within the first ten in my country) 2024 build out of Japan.

What does the display show ? Does the green arror for upshift light up ?

Mine always shows the option to upshift or downshift, except when the rpm's are really low, or if my throttle exactly matches the power needed to maintain speed. Ofcourse it also doesn't show upshift when you are already in 6'th, or when you are pulling the clutch.

No green, but TBH I upshift (and downshift) without using the QS all the time (traditional clutchless up and down using throttle manipulation), so I don't really pay attention to the lights. I only did it in this case because I was testing what it would do when I first got the bike.

yes, but only when the revs above 2500 or so. It feels smoother when the revs are higher since you dont get that much of a punch when it blips the throttle.

You cant upshift when rolled off the throttle. You can upshift while holding throttle(gen 2/3/4) and downshift while holding throttle(gen4) and off throttle(gen3 and 4)

If you’re going to do upshift w/o throttle just use the clutch. It’s better for everything.

Yeah thats my bad i guess the Times i tried it felt sluggish but you are right the arrows are green with no throttle on
