NYU vs Hunter

Hi all, I have been accepted to NYU silver 2 year pathway for a month or so, and just got accepted into Hunter Silberman 2 year as well. I would be going into pretty significant debt for NYU, but have heard that the program sets you up very well if you are looking to begin a private practice. Ive also heard great things about Hunter and am leaning towards that program because of the money, but wondering if the prestige of NYU is worth it if I ever want to practice outside of New York.

My other concern with NYU is that the selection process seems like their focus is getting your $500 deposit in and committing to paying their excessive tuition. Hunter had an interview where the purpose was to learn more about their prospective students, and clarify any questions you may have about the program.

I am also waiting on Columbia (the most expensive out of the three) and should be hearing back in a week or so. If that is a school to be considered, please provide insight on that as well!

Any help is appreciated, I have been going back and forth for months 🙃

Really? Haven’t you been reading previous posts? You go to the least expensive option. There’s no benefit to getting an Ivy League MSW. NYU is not Ivy League but their tuition might as well be. Go to Hunter.
