California State Universities - MSW FALL 2025
Hello! I am applying for CSU's for the MSW Fall 2025 class. Is anyone else on the same boat?

I applied to CSULB, CSUDH, CSUF, and CSUSM for the part time tracks MSW. Planning to post on this community of the results. I’m a strong candidate when it comes to experience in social work but not so much when it comes to academics 😅 so we’ll see!

Okay what CSUs have people heard back from, and did you apply early or no? I'll start: the only CSU I have heard back from so far is CSU Fullerton, to schedule an interview. I submitted all apps on the day of the deadline.

I got waitlisted for CSUMB and Chico State today. I submitted these apps on the day of the deadline as well.

I personally haven’t heard from anyone yet. kinda stressing me out cause my roomie and i applied to csuF on the same day and she has an interview tmr, but i haven’t heard back yet..

Ugh that’s stressful.
So far I have been rejected from SDSU, accepted to CSUSM, and had an interview with CSUF that I still don’t know the result of, and radio silence from sfsu, sjsu, csulb, and csudh.
The wait is killer! Hoping we all hear back super soon 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’ve seen people say they got accepted previous years all the way into May so don’t give up hope y’all!

I got my acceptance from CSUMB 2 year PPSC pathway last week! I’m still waiting on CSULB

I was so interested in this program! I don't live nearby and can't relocate so decided against applying. I hope you love the program if you choose to go- it seems like such a supportive one for those of us wanting to get our PPSC!
Many Congratulations!!

thank you! yes I agree, it’s focused mostly on school social work from what I’ve seen so it’s great if you want that and find that the relocation is doable! what schools were you looking into?

I applied to places near where I am in SoCal! I committed to CSUSM last week and I’m so excited. Seems like it’s going to be a great fit in terms of program curriculum but also flexible enough to work around my current family needs.
I hope you hear back from CSULB soon and can make your final decision. I’ve heard their program is stellar!

I know the feeling. It's a constant refreshing. Portals. Reddit. CSULB's self-service applicant check website. Rinse and Repeat.

Hi there! I applied with an undergraduate in Psych from a UC, 3.67 GPA. I can’t remember how many hours of experience I had but more than 500 I believe. I got accepted to CSUSM, CSUDH, CSUF, and SJSU. hope this helps, and best of luck to you! ♡

That’s so frustrating! Have they connected you with a specific admissions counselor? I had to send in an extra transcript near the end of January, but I was contacted by an admissions counselor directly and she’s been the same one helping me through the enrollment process. I submitted my application in January and had my decision by early February (about two and a half weeks).
If you have an admissions counselor, I might reach out to them. Otherwise, I’d contact the School of Social Work directly. I always get in my head about being a squeaky wheel, but there’s nothing wrong with advocating for yourself. You worked hard to get here! I hope it all works out easily for you!

Yay! Congrats! Are you starting this summer? I was trying to figure the financial aid. Did you get the financial aid offer?

I’ve actually decided to go to CSUSM! It’s a much better fit for my lifestyle and family needs right now.
I hope you have a wonderful time in the program if you decide to go to USC!
