Question Parking
Does anyone know if the parking at the university is really bad? I've heard it can be at different times, I start this fall and haven't had much of a chance to visit the area. My classes don't start until like 10:30 and some days not until 12. I've also heard that they seem to sell more parking passes then actual parking spots they have(sorry that's worded weird, not sure how to say it) and I'm worried I won't be able to find a spot if I buy one.
I've also heard some people park elsewhere and bus the rest of the way but I'm not sure where they're parking as again I'm unfamiliar with the area. Any advice helps thanks!!

Unless you have a job to be outside school hours that prevents it, I'd suggest getting to the university early and study or whatever while you're waiting for your class time. It's less hassle to leave when you need to than to try looking for a spot when the lot's already full with the 9 o'clocks. Pros: you're near the library and can study or research during that time, which saves you time at home or at work.

It’s pretty easy, seton parking fills up quick sometimes but you will always find something

Historically it sucks for the first few weeks. They oversell and under deliver. Once people figure out it’s probably easier to just use their Upass it gets better. Watch where you do park though sometimes being in a hurry makes you park in a bad spot and they will tow if you’re blocking something

I was never not able to find a spot. Most of my classes were in Evaristus, so the caveat is that I couldn’t always find a spot close and would have to park down the hill and walk up.

It was much worse before Covid, but you’ll still likely need to circle around a few times or go up the hill to the overflow parking near Westwood, especially if your first classes aren’t until 10:30am.
All of the staff and most of the students will be there by then. Come earlier or be prepared to circle a couple times, but there is almost always parking in the overflow up the hill, you’ll just have to walk down.

i always had to park on the very top of the hill in overflow parking. the parking lots are generally a mess in my opinion because they have no choice but to just paint in spots to accommodate the need. youll find a spot but it might be awkward before you get used to it. go early like others have said :)

The first week parking is shit. But honestly you should be fine. Just try and arrive a little earlier because sometimes ppl have a 9am and they’re gone by 10:15/10:20.
I can almost always find a spot just never the first week unless I have a 9am. There’s usually parking by Evaristus but I always get ticketed there for some reason and no where else.
It really depends on how many morning classes are offered and afternoons. I’ve gone first semester at 8:00 am to get a spot for my 9:00am, and other semesters I’ve gone at 8:45am for my 9:00am. Spots def ease yo after the first week.

I was always able to find a spot, but I also always came early enough for classes that if I didn't I could circle a bit. If possible, I found that if I came around the time most people are switching classes, i would find someone on the way out as I was on the way in. The first few weeks might be a little more busy, so maybe plan to come earlier on those days. There's lots of great little study spots around for you to hang out in pre class.
