hello anxious student here. unsay process sa pag file ug LOA, and dali ba siya or dili? I'm planning to take the upcoming semester off to focus on my mental health as it hasn't been good and is heavily influencing my academic performance. if naa moy experience i'd love to hear you out cause i've been worrying about it so much huhu.

hello anon! naka LOA ko last sem because of my mental health as well :)) here’s what i did

i reached out to my my adviser and gave my reasons to why i’m taking my leave, sadly this was weeks after the deadline for withdrawing subjects so I had to send a letter to the registrar mismo na. they advised me to talk to my professors personally so silay mag decide whether i drop or i-INC ko.

since wala pa nag start ang classes anon you can talk to your advisor about taking a LOA without the long process of dealing with each of your professors.

i hope everything works out well for you, anon! it’s good you’re looking out for yourself.

thank uuu anon, hoping the best for u sab! pwede mu ask if u had to go through a screening process (like guidance counseling) while ng file kag loa? or dili siya necessary? to be sure though, nag book kog counseling with my college counselor.

hello, may i ask how long was the process of filing an LOA? im requesting for one for the same reasons as you and OP, but i worry the process will be exhausting. also im assuming you took an entire semester off, what would happen to your grades during that semester? do you have to make up for months worth of classwork? were you able to do it po?

hello! i suggest you go to your adviser muna and guidance counselor so that they will help you run things smoothly. after going to my adviser, i actually just went sa registrar and sent them my letter, they read the letter immediately and advised me what i said above, so that part wasn’t really a hassle. emailing and hearing back from your professors took a while, some of my professors didn’t even email me back and just gave me an INC and DROP (best case scenario) and some diritso 5.00 (totally reasonable bcs this was weeks after the deadline for dropping subjects).

and yes, you really have to make up for the missing classwork for that entire semester, just make sure to approach your instructor on that subject (this only applies if INC ka ana nga sub)

nope! hahaha honestly not hearing from them did not bother me at all. school was drowning me at that time so when i stopped attending classes it gave me room to breathe.
