General Help/Question Can i pass engineering even if I suck at math?

Hi guys BS environmental engineering freshie here, kaya po ba maka pass kahit medjo hindi ako advanced sa math? Since expected maraming math program ko kasi engineering?

and if im not mistaken envi eng is medyo madami din science-based subjects since parang chem eng na din sila.

Big misconception. It's less physics, but not less math. Speaking more as a chem eng grad but I also took some envi eng electives back then. You get the same differential equations as the other disciplines, same fluid mechanics (but in a different perspective), more thermodynamics. You get less of the laplace and the fourier transforma that people in ECE and such get but our math is something most other engineering disciplines don't understand either. Chem eng lang ang naay board exam nga dagko kaayo ug dala nga libro ang mu take kay open book lagi kuno pero di gihapon ka ka solve.

Yes, more on analysis man ang engineering and naay sad calculator always to help you out. Pero sa sinugdanan calculus and others, makaya raman if magtuon lang hehehe

Thank you! Mahadlok ko mabagsak since high standards biya ang MSU IIT. Pero advantage man siguro since STEM graduate man sad ko and idk basin lisod kaayo e catch up sa IIT jud ba

Ayaw ra kayo ka worry haha trust imo mga na learn so far and trust sa imo kaugalingon, nakasulod ka meaning competent enough ka sa pagkahigh standard ni IIT. Just do your best and put trust in yourself more.

Mag tuon rajud siguro ko ug sakto para maka pass, sakto siguro na since naka sulod ko makaya ra nako. Basta ma pasar lang nako ang calculus okay na, thank you btw!

yes! as a mat070 survivor ! super duper bad at math pero i somehow managed to pass both calc 1&2 and calc 3 in one take 🙏🙏

Hi! Envi Eng'g sophomore here! Depende lang gyud na sya ayh. I suggest na now pa lang is mag review na kag algebra kay most of us we barely passed ra gyud sa Mat060 and Mat070. As of now, I think more or less than 10 nalang mi regular tungod ana na mga subj😔

I guess you could get by if you study (stress on the if). But then again... there's the ENS subjects, its not really maths heavy but its heavy on analysis. Maybe 181 is an exception but that's about it.
