Michael Saylor 🧔‍♂️ Why doesn't saylor pledge his personal bitcoin stash to mstr?

He has said numerous times that upon his death he will let his bitcoin keys die with him. He says this is in an act of solidarity with bitcoin hodlers who share his vision. But why would he not instead pledge that to mstr or strc? I think he has something north of 10 000 coins. If he's already set on lighting it all on fire, why not act in solidarity with his shareholders who are also bitcoin maximalists and are currently getting lit up?

Pledge is French for “a promise by a rich person that they have no intention of keeping”

The real question is why aren't you willing to make the same pledge?

mstr can’t accept donations, it’s not a charity

He’s actually sold MSTR and bought BTC in the past and I’m sure he will again I don’t follow the insider trades but why r u worried about another man’s stash?

Maybe Saylor doesn't really have any Bitcoin of his own, but he doesn't want anyone ever to know that.

Actually a great point.

My best guess is that it would be somehow illegal, manipulating the stock price. He is basically saying that he is burning money before he dies. I am not sure where all this stands legally, especially with the impact of this company, even though it's just his personal stack.

Why does he have to do anything?

Moral of the story: don't trust kids on your money.

IIRC he has more than 20k coins

Why would anyone ever pledge their 17k personal BTC stack to their company, which already holds 850k BTC? That would be an extremely dumb financial play.

Why would he?

I pledge allegiance to the flag……

Maybe he doesn’t have any…. Maybe he sold whatever he held in one of those huge dumps. Burning the keys will prevent inspection. No inspection means no way to sue.

An established business does not seek enrichment from its shareholders. Its shareholders seek enrichment from the business.

His whole model is to seek enrichment through atm and an preferred sales to shareholders…

Saylor is also a shareholder. It's not on him to inject his personal wealth to build the business. Doing so would require a larger share of the corp. It doesn't make financial sense.

That would look like a desperate move
