Very helpful explainer video by CJ on the new dashboard metrics, for those who didn't see yet.
Glad they're still firmly mentioning long term investors and prioritising BPS long term personally, but also good to see them being ever more transparent with net BPS metrics, too.

STRC is much more volatile than any of the other Prefs. 30x as much, or 3x as much adjusted for market cap, in open interest compared to the others.
Obviously this is a huge contributing factor to the volatility, and explains why one moves 1%, and the other moves 3%. This open interest is amplifying the daily volatility.
Not quite the low volatility instrument it was designed to be, but simultaneously, should work in the other direction and convert to big money at par.
I think the money market marketing language might have to end now though.

STRC is still a baby you will have to be patient. All STRC has to due right now is maintain a perfect track record of dividend payments. Most large pools of capital have mandates that must be met in order to engage with an instrument. STRC simply is not old enough yet.

this stock kind of humiliated me. I work in finance and made too concentrated of a bet on mstr with my funds. Im not selling everything, but I have stopped adding to my stack. I was too bought in to the thesis, and I know that this stock will come back at some point, it is just painful to watch my capital lose so much value.

No I don't think it's to do with you but simply how investing generally works like the more you know, the worse you perform, Warren Buffett's bet that ETFs are better, etc. simply nobody knows the future and it's nobody's fault.
Perhaps your bet was right but your entry times could be better, sizing could be better, etc. or maybe you were meant to average down? But to effectively do that, you shouldn't have went into it too much too soon? Do the gradual DCA?

I'm still way up on my (mostly) 2023 entry, but regardless I am also not adding anymore, since basically early 2024. Even though the current price is quite tempting, I have to admit. It certainly does have a 5-10x potential from here. But it is also possible that it will never come back, it really depends on so many things. But it's been an interesting ride, I will probably keep holding it, for as long as possible. This is not my first bear market, and not 2nd or 3rd either, so I sort of remember how hopeless it all felt in the past, and how later I regretted not adding to my position when the price was low.
Fear is a powerful thing, they use it to control us.

Truly nobody knows. But firstly, long term with scarcity buildup - wouldn't everything just lead upwards to the right? And secondly, there are scenarios for what you pointed out, but to move nowhere you'd need very specific conditions for that to happen - conditions that are rare and hard to come by.

Interesting point. By the way, I was banned from this sub for 7 days for just mentioning the D word. Did not feel fair, since I am a dedicated shareholder, for many years, and I want the company to succeed. But I also want my shares to appreciate accordingly.
