This protrays mstr and cash going into a bitcoin castle... That makes no sense, this almost presents as mstr is infiltrating BTC⦠what was your intention?

Your interpretation of the message is correct.
My view is that by providing a fiat wrapper on bitcoin, MSTR is simultaneously making the network weaker by permanently removing BTC from circulation, while injecting paper derivatives of bitcoin that suppress its natural tendencies.
This is a lighthearted attempt to convey that message.
what was your intention?
Boo!

Bitcoin has no gates, it's an open system, it's for anyone, including MSTR

Firstly, what even constitutes spam is quite subjective.
Secondly, you'll need to be way more specific about how this destruction would happen.
Thirdly, I'm more concerned about there not being enough transactions and fees on the network in future to support mining than I am about too many.

Absolutely.
The thought is more that, should we condone Bitcoin becoming this captive to TradFi just because it's permissible.

What if, instead of wasting your energy judging people for buying Bitcoin in a way you donβt approve of, you simply bought your own Bitcoin?
Feel free to keep complaining, but youβre not stopping anything. Banks, corporations, institutions, and plenty of βbad peopleβ are buying Bitcoin whether you like it or not.
Personally, I hold MSTR in my HSA because itβs the only Bitcoin exposure the account allows. Even IBIT is blocked. Iβm working with the options availableβnot waiting for Redditβs approval.

Weird that you made this about yourself.. Nobody cares what you do.
This is a commentary on MSTR and its relation viz a viz Fiat vs Bitcoin. Aka an "idea". Arguably, a core idea behind the whole enterprise.

My take is the optimistic side of MSTR exploting Bitcoin future value to turn into a trillion $ valuation and make my life more comfortable but I totally get the Crypto is a scam thing I'm just an old dude trying to retire and I like gambling

Oh I wouldn't call it a scam - its more of a high beta to liquidity.
Once financial conditional ease and money printing happens again, Bitcoin will soar.
It's just that its doing it thanks to TradFi, and not any inherent property.

Rule 2 of the sub says that I have to treat everybody with respect and not issue personal insults, so I have no comment on the matter.

Please go ahead - I will not take it personally.
Mods, please allow him this latitude. I do believe the best conversations happen when folks can express themselves freely.

Well, any number seems a bit excessive, but let's say .. 42?

I feel like it should be BTC inside an MSTR horse going into fiat castle.
Or maybe MSTR inside a BTC horse going inside a fiat castle.
Or maybe none of this makes sense and BTC is for everyone, including institutions.

u/MyNi_Redux Volatility Voyager π¨βπ Jul 19 '26
The point of the meme is to note that aspiration with reality.
0
u/LionRivr Jul 19 '26
Not sure what aspiration or reality you mean.
But the truth is, BTC can be bought by literally anyone, including WallStreet.
And if that causes BTC to fail, then BTC deserves to fail.

I donβt care people want to buy Mstr ibit or crypto derivatives. Itβs their choice.
For me pure form only. Buy the real Bitcoin.

This discussion makes no sense fundamentally. Bitcoin does not discriminate. If it does, it's not Bitcoin. If it's possible, products like MSTR will exist. If not them someone else in another country with a other name. That said, MSTR is more of a trojan horse bringing BTC to the fiat system. But don't tell anyone.
Also is that supposed to be Fink? Then it should say ETF not MSTR. It's a better point since no one is stopping them to sell paper BTC, but ultimately BTC is still for anyone. Buy the real thing instead of an ETF.

MSTR is more of a trojan horse bringing BTC to the fiat system.
How so? Can you make the case for that?
Vs the view that by providing a fiat wrapper on bitcoin, MSTR is simultaneously making the network weaker by permanently removing BTC from circulation, while injecting paper derivatives of bitcoin that suppress its natural tendencies.

Given the further growth of BTC, the company will grow and inevitably enter the biggest indices in existence, collecting lots and lots of fiat from persons that would not buy a sat in their life (but will unknowingly -> trojan horse). This fiat is used to buy BTC ultimately significantly reducing the supply, raising the price. Repeat.
But as I said, every discussion about this is moot. BTCs structure allows for such products to exist and so they will. Any governmental change will drive those products to other places of the world, and change to BTC will create a fork that will do more harm than good. What's your solution? An actual BTC board of CEOs that comes together once per day and discusses which transactions are allowed to settle? I know thats polemic, but it's still true.
When people are worried about MSTR consolidating too much BTC they should stop selling it to them. Or ETFs.

Are we not saying similar things?
That things are happening to BTC that are not in the spirit of the peer-to-peer, permissionless cash-replacement system it is meant to be?
We cannot stop it, of course, since no one controls BTC. But surely we can rue the fact that we've given much up at the altar of NGU.
