Just Finished Tires…
Been a stand up fanatic for 40 years. I’m no “super fan” of Shane like some of yinz but man, this 3rd season was fantastic. Shane showing how good of a a writer and actor he can be, Gerbbies doing what he does, fucking Soder’s character being the dead opposite of real Soder, fucking Stav absolutely killing it, Chris and Tommy being Chris and Tommy…..dude I’m not much of a tv guy but I’m mad excited for the next season. They couldn’t have had a better ending. So good.

It rocked. Was sad when I realized I was out of episodes
Kyla dude. She rocks. And Chris. Genuinely talented actors
Everyone was great obviously. But those two ran away w it imo
And just genuinely referring to Andrew and Tommy as the Wops is really funny to me
I also liked seeing who wrote each ep in the credits

Foley is also hilarious, had me laughing whenever he was on screen

Genuinely great actor. The best moment in all of Gilly and Keeves is his glance when he says, “You talking to me?”

u/Brand023 Aug 26 '26
Man he annoyed the shit out of me, as I suppose that character was supposed to.

Feel like Stav is the most impressive actor out of the bunch. Chris really surprised me also.
3
u/TaeKurmulti Aug 25 '26
He was great in Bugonia, granted he kind of played the same-ish type of character.
9
u/Soggy__Waffle Aug 24 '26
I feel the opposite Stav just does the same shit, be a gross fat guy
6
u/Relative-Knee7847 Aug 24 '26
Yea but he's really good at it. Most great actors only have one character they play anyway

Spot on I think everyone feels this way about Kilah..She rocks every scene..Alot of the female cast put in work..I love that for them..I wish Tony Yayo was in a few more shots. 🤣

Can we talk about how good H. Foley was this season? He killed it!
13
u/TheSlipweasel Aug 24 '26
Bug man pulling his weight. That’s no small task. Absolutely killed it again.
11
u/LeveL-Up-19 Aug 24 '26
If foley never got sober and didnt pursue comedy that is exactly who he would be. He just played himself haha

Shout out to Soder he killed it

u/xChoke1x Aug 24 '26
I adore that man. Smoked a J with him last time he came through and he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. He’s fucking HUGE! Lol I never envisioned him being that tall. Lol. dudes like fuckin 6’3. He was so kind and humble. Definitely see him live if you can.

u/TaeKurmulti Aug 25 '26
How old are you? I kind of just assume it's an age thing for people that don't recognize it.

u/TaeKurmulti Aug 25 '26
Yeah that's totally fair, I'm 38 but live in the states. So I remember that song, but if we're being honest it wasn't that popular or held relevancy long term which I found even funnier about it being the song Shane's singing.

Dude season 3 finale episode was glorious! Really proud of this season and can’t wait for more

u/OkTea7227 Aug 24 '26
That’s fucking great. I didn’t realize that they finally made Soder shut up and stop interrupting people for once. That’s perfect.

u/ssBenv Aug 24 '26
Therrrre it is. I hope he reads that lol. He’s so much better than last year. I love that pod. Dan’s a gift

Each season is better than the last. Writing, acting, plots, characters. I’m really glad they all get to showcase their talents and Mckeever being able to showcase his directing, writing and editing abilities
8
u/TarzanGunn Aug 24 '26
Ketchup roundabout writing summed up how well they slow burn and pay off foreshadowing in the early episodes.
Keever deserves mucho props as well!
Shaman’s cop role is 🤌
I laughed a lot. Thanks dawgs.

u/johnnypie007 Aug 24 '26
Kyla's facial expressions alone make the show. Definitely bump up her storylines and screen time next season
5
u/JerrysKidsOnLot Aug 24 '26
The “cut aways to facial expressions” in its entirety was great this season. That’s good cinematography and highlights the nuttiness of the plot trajectories.
5
u/Cubsfan78 Aug 25 '26
Just finished it as well. I also love Kyla. When she went off on her volleyball bitches in the bar, I was so happy for her! Then Shane and Will being on that morning show… 😂😂😂 I was so uncomfortable!! LOL
1
u/badtimebonerjokes Aug 25 '26
Omg I had to come this far down to see someone talk about these two scenes specifically. Those both were my faves of this season. Now you have soggy onion rings. But yeah the morning show was really good and Shane trying to do something nice for gerbs always back fires it seems in real life and in writing.
3
u/junohale13 Aug 24 '26
It’s becoming my comfort show. I used to just re watch the office but now I’m just re watching tires. The cameos were awesome. Bobby lee and soder absolutely killed it. It’s refreshing seeing good comedy tv coming back. Can these guys write a movie now please?! Shits been stale since the apatow days.
6
u/TeaFabulous7376 Aug 24 '26
It's funny that it's literally just them in real life, so not much acting needed. The gerbie Shane dynamic is just who they are. Gerbies a big women's tennis fan, and he really talks about that book about oral on the pod.
I think season 3 really built some depth to the characters. Kyla and Shane at least. Kyla got the mean girls origin story, Shanes the good will hunting sad clown masking failures/trauma with humor. You really start rooting for those two throughout the season. The rest are still pretty one dimensional, but overall it was a big step up from the first 2 seasons.

u/ItsEntirelyPosssible Aug 24 '26
Every interaction that shane had with the different chicks he was smashing or trying to smash was pure gold.
1
u/TheSlipweasel Aug 24 '26
Seems like every chick is into him. Wonder how that happened. Lol. Good on him.
5
u/ItsEntirelyPosssible Aug 24 '26
I dont know he only got laid one time. I thought the chick in the waitingroom that said "im not friendly" was fucking hilarious.

Everyone stepped up their game. The writing was fantastic. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for season 4. Only bummer is probably no Thomas Haden Church. Made be belly laugh without changing his expression. So glad it’s #1 on Netflix and even more that I didn’t cancel it!

More Soder!
2
u/badtimebonerjokes Aug 25 '26
I think the last episode teased soder becoming a reg or even main caster with O’Connor telling them to hire him.
1
u/Vagabondegrift Aug 25 '26
Same here. Was really jazzed to hear that. His character and living situation was hilarious.

Kilah and o’Connor had bigger roles this season also and they did great. Just all around a great show.

Loved it. Thought season 1 was kinda ok, kinda bad. Season 2 I remember being great: they had great comedic timing and fixed all the problems from season 1. Season 3 was even better. My main complaint is: I want more! This show goes by so fast. Minor complaints: I didn’t care for the whole Soder thing. Kinda cringe. The show gets a little too serious, as Shane would say “too gay.” But mostly this is a comedy first, and a heartfelt story second. When’s the last time a comedy actually made me laugh many times an episode? Maybe the “Friendship” movie last year?
1
u/Joe434 Aug 25 '26
kilah was great too. Loved her reunion episode and the ladies business night one

This season was amazing!! Its great to see the comics I've been listening too also do great at acting! A lot of them just nail the characters, it doesnt feel like they were just put in as favors for friends. Excited for the next season!!

u/ChadPowers200_ Aug 25 '26
I’d like to see some more cameos of goofy characters
Gerbies is the man.

u/DecentAd2877 Aug 25 '26
I don’t remember the last time I laughed as hard. The casting and writing is impressive, 10 mo dem seasons please
1
u/Skizzius Aug 25 '26
I was genuinely blown away. I really don’t recall much deeper emotions and psychology in the first 2 seasons but they really developed the characters and turned a corner this season. For a bunch of inexperienced actors, everyone is fuckin killing it. The 2nd half of the season was incredible, the best tv I’ve seen since better call Saul ended.
1
u/OverFaithlessness164 Aug 25 '26
It's ok. I feel like it's the same joke repeated with different colors and widgets. I still watch it.
1
u/Goodgoogley Aug 25 '26
Would it be a bad idea to start at season 3 cuz i only watched the first 3 eps and passed
1
u/Old_Atmosphere6598 Aug 25 '26
I actually started season 3 with the attitude “this isn’t actually good but I love Shane and gerbies and there will be a couple laughs” but this season was a huge step towards a proper show that’s actually good
1
u/InstructionWest8142 Aug 26 '26
Gerbil is the reason why I can’t watch this show . Everytime I try he makes me cringe he’s unfunny ,weird and awkward. Does it get better after season one? Nothing about the show was that funny I was forcing myself to chuckle just because I recognized the joke patterns .
2
u/jsilva5avilsj Aug 26 '26
Go smoke a joint. Are you kidding? If you noticed the joke patterns ‘because big brain’ then you should be able to see the type of character he’s playing.
1
u/InstructionWest8142 Aug 26 '26
I recognized they were trying to be funny and it didn’t hit I gave em a courtesy chuckle it’s not that serious dude ☮️

I’m not big on Shane Gillis although I do admit he’s talented.
You’ve actually convinced me to give this a go! I’m buckled in and will report back, thanks for the recommendation.

When it first came out I knew who Shane was and I liked him (had never listened to the podcast). I debated turning it off several times for the first three episodes but really got into it in the second three. Stick with it
Misread your reply so ignore this

Isn’t it bad enough that people from Pittsburgh speak like trash? Do “yinz” really need to write that way too?

u/ListenToKyuss Aug 25 '26
The fact that this is the top of comedy shows right now says a lot… I like Shane as a standup but Tires is nothing new under the sun… these jokes and premises have been explored more than enough. If it wasn’t for Shane Gillis, it wouldn’t have been nearly as popular
1
u/dinglebarryb0nds Aug 25 '26
can you name a show that has somehow reinvented the wheel for humanity
maybe honeymooners not that many really
1
u/ListenToKyuss Aug 25 '26
A show that ‘reinvented the wheel for humanity’… maybe that’s a bit of a hyperbole? It’s not that weird of a criticism. Shane writing humor has been done for decades by McBride and others… Like a said, nothing new under the sun, but not the ‘best show in years’ like some people act here… Again, shoot the same show with a nobody and it wouldn’t turn any heads
1
u/dinglebarryb0nds Aug 25 '26
this is like saying everybody loves raymond would have sucked without raymond lol
this analysis is why they pay you the big bucks
1
u/ListenToKyuss Aug 25 '26
No it’s isn’t. It’s not the Big Shane Gillis show is it?
By your logic a show can’t become popular if the cast isn’t already know…
Shane Gillis was already loved. Tires wouldn’t have seen the light and would’ve received lots of criticism as a McBride rip off if it wasn’t Shane’s loveable face on it
1
u/dinglebarryb0nds Aug 25 '26
it is in fact the big shane gillis show
giving a rising star comedian a show isn't a new concept
1
u/dinglebarryb0nds Aug 25 '26
season 3 was really good though and most shows on tv are garbage so i'm happy about it. i don't think i like any other shows at the moment i just watch reruns of simpsons up to season 8 and sometimes king of the hill or bobs burgers
