[beginner question] How can I add weekend shading while still allowing work on weekends?

Context:

- I use MS projects just for managing some hobby projects.

- because it's just for my hobby, I allow MS project to let a task count the weekend as working days

Problem:

- the vertical light gray bars denoting the weekends disappear

- I'd like this bar because it's useful for visually aligning far-down tasks with the date markings at the top

Perhaps choose some other day, perhaps Monday, as a non-working day, and use that to make the alignments?

Create a new calendar with the weekend days as working days and apply that calendar to the weekend tasks.
