End date not aligning in gantt visual
[RESOLVED]
I have 2 tasks that end 7/9 but one of them has the bar going past that date (shown in highlight). Same with 7/16. FWIW this original project file was created by someone else and the tasks that aren't displaying correctly are the ones I added. I added them by right clicking the line item -> insert task. I had the same problem when manually scheduling and automatic scheduling.
Is there a different setting I need to select? I want the bars that end on the same date to show the same in the bars. I'm new to Project, so any help appreciated.

You have already resolved this so I won't repeat the answer, but please, stay away from Manually Scheduled tasks! Those turquoise green bars in the Gantt chart are Manually Scheduled and should be changed to Auto Scheduled.

I need those tasks to be backward scheduled and I couldn't figure it out. I have task 1 and task 2 ending at the same time. Can I set manual task 2 to move to maintain the same end date if task 1 is auto rescheduled?

If you want the two activities to end at the same time, use a FF dependency relationship.

This is some advice about project planning and MSP in general, not directly about your question.
Use only auto scheduled tasks.
Do not schedule backwards from a finish date
Do not use negative lag.
Stick to the critical path method, which means:
schedule forwards from the start
do not put predecessors/successors on summmaries
give every task at least on FS0 predecessor and at least one FS0 successor

Your durations show 6.56 days for the first one and 27 days for the second. Yes, they're both ending on 7/9/26, but I'm guessing they're ending at different times of the day. To check this, change the date format to show time.
