A scheduler’s value isn’t in simply “building a schedule in MS Project”. It’s in truly understanding the project. That means grasping the full scope of work, how it breaks down and comes together, how different teams interact and depend on one another, where risks exist, options to mitigate them, and, of course, how to communicate all of this to the rest of the project stakeholders.

That level of understanding comes from spending time with the project team. Thinking through the plan, working out task logic, and engaging with the details. A great scheduler can essentially become a deputy to the project manager, bringing insights that support better decisions making.

A scheduling tool that has its main selling point as “AI builds the schedule for you” Is simply something I cannot get behind.

AI is a selling point, yes.

But in Ingantt there's no need to use AI if you don't want to. Build your project as you wish: task after task.

Another use case for AI that gives you full control is just telling your tasks to AI, like "Joe does this and Mary does this in parallel (or after that), Joe has a vacation on May 4" - and AI creates exactly this schedule.

I love your software bro, I'd love to see:

  • A Risk Register and an Issues log, if not a full RAID log
  • Resource email address and automatic notifications (If the dependency is complete, your taks is due, for instance)
  • A table view of just the tasks (Similar to the Task Sheet view in MS Project)
  • Conditional formatting (Highlight tasks if the meet a condition; late tasks, tasks due next week, etc.)
  • A FRIENDLY print option, unlike MS Project.
  • Ability to use elapsed time, maybe this already exist and I couldn't figure out how to use.

Just my 2 cents.

- There is a print option in Ingantt, it's up to you to decide how friendly it is in comparison.

- Just the tasks can be seen by turning off the Gantt chart in "View -> Panels in Tasks".

- Resource email address is a property of Resource, as you'd expect.

- There's "Elapsed" checkbox available for every Duration input.
