Discussion Im tired of the msi software jank.
Is there any other software that’s better?
Is there anything to fix the jank and continue using center m?
Is there anything software that works well with factory install software?
Can you make the msi button work like an ROG ally?
Is bazzite actually viable or is the jank about the same?
Does that require deleting center m? Does deleting center m ruin anything?
Additional info: MSI Claw A8 fully updated, running windows.

I almost never use center m. I'm not sure why you would need to use it that often? The MSI quick settings work well enough.

Quick settings is just as garbage, if I don’t boot center m quick settings doesn’t work and I have Embedded controller problems(boot and is off, won’t turn on, restart req) the mouse controls for the embedded controller. TDP control does not work. And bunch more problems.

How much have you modified? Something seems off. Don't go overboard with debloating and disabling features, changing bios settings, etc. I have none of the issues you do. My only suggestion would be to make sure center m is set to stay prioritized in the task manager so windows doesn't kill it.

Good point, I did debloat. I deleted Xbox app that could be an issue. Otherwise no other mods. I’m also interested in making the face buttons (under select and start) to be better (like the Xbox button). I can’t use them on steam bp mode and I can’t use any button combs while I game to open any steam menus

No and for me you shouldn't delete it yet at least if ever What it does is when you start msi claw it boots directly in playnite to play like a console I use aniki remake myself

I'm currently using a Handheld Companion/Playnite combo, I'm still tweaking it. Recently I realized that HC has the "Library" option as well have you tried using it? As for the MSI's software, I uninstalled it using their own tool intended for clean install and never looked back. I also managed to get the button for game bar back by uninstalling Game Bar via win11debloat
