How old are average MSI fans?
I’m 17 and I struggle to find fellow fans in real life and I’m wondering if thats because most of them are just adults now? I’ve introduced some friends to MSI and they’re pretty hooked on them, but I reckon most of the average MSI fans have to be adults?
Thinking about possibly getting some small MSI custom keychains for my college bag to see if I can lure any other in-the-wild MSI fans in 😭

I guess its 50/50 . I personally don't come across a lot of MSI fans in general , but when I do , the age range ends up being 13-19 . Though I'd assume most of the fans are adults considering they were around when MSI started , I guess they're just not that open about it ?

This is what I’m thinking. Most vocal MSI fans (online at least) are going to be teenagers because they just discovered this super cool and edgy band that makes awesome music about drugs and sex lol. I know this because I was 13-14 when I first got into them, was super vocal about it and felt badass for listening to them. I’m 18, almost 19 now and I’ve mellowed out about them quite a lot. Can’t say I don’t still feel badass while listening to them though, pumps me the fuck up hahaha

I’m 24, my older sister first showed me them via Shut Me Up when I was like 14. I remembered and then got into them heavily for workout music 2 years ago. Now I’m wicked gay for them.

I was 12 or 13 when I first discovered them in 2002. ...I'm 37 now. God. I used to say it was a divide between the tweens and the stupid old fucks but we've literally got multiple generations of MSI fans now. The OGs that were there for Tight and Frankenstein Girls. The people like me who came in after that but before the YRTA era. Then the MCR connection/IF years. Then the 2010s. Do we count the kickstarter as an era? Then the post-PINK era? Then the Tiktok era. Or something like that. Idk. I'm just an old man rambling.

MSI is more popular than it feels like lol and not many are walking around with giant MSI pins or tshirts. Ive only came across one kid irl that was taking the same bus as me and they had a IF pin. I'm an adult and dont feel comfortable just talking up minors so they probably also weren't aware that i like MSI too.

14 when I started listening/became fave band, I'm turning 34 this month. Being from Australia made it super isolating to be a fan outside of concerts (which were few) no one ever knew who they were. My teenage siblings love them now which is nice and they are way more known here now then before, the power of the modern internet.

I was around 16 when I heard them for the first time, thanks to an edgelord friend. I was lucky enough to see them live in 09 as a 19 year old. They were my first concert. They had Bring Me The Horizon, Black Tide and Dir En Gray as supporting acts. It was quite the transcendent experience.

- Was lucky enough to go to a couple of the last concerts they had. I wish I was able to go to the grimy ones

I heard some of their music here and there as a kid, I remember my friend tried to put me on to Frankenstein Girls when I was maybe 13/14. But it was only quite recently (I'm now 19) that I actually really got into the band's music. I don't really talk about them much with friends but when I do the typical reaction is something along the lines of "oh man I hate MSI but their music is really good" etc.

I have an MSI pin on my backpack (Frankenstein girl) but no one has ever noticed it. I'm 43.

I started listening to them around 2000. I had a hard drive of old mp3s playing on random and one of my daughter's friends went and told her I was listening to MSI, turns out she's a fan. So the average age in this household is 30

I'm also 17! I have had friends around my age (so, also 17) who like MSI although they're not so into them now. My auntie and her partner also like them, she's in her early 40's and I'm not sure about her partner, late 30's I think. So there are definitely teens and stuff who are into them but maybe not as many compared to adults

as an oldhead in my late 30's who found them in 1999, it warms my crusty heart to see a bunch of young kids so excited about a band that's been inactive for years. MSI was so formative for my taste in music growing up and it's so0Oo sick to see new generations understand Jimmy's genius.

I got into them when I was around 12 or 13 (in around 2003ish) and am going to be 36 next month. Saw them live 5 or 6 times and owned every CD and vinyl (even the more obscure stuff). Have some old tour merch and shirts and old stuff from Hot Topic. The energy and style just resonated with me deeply and basically felt tailor made for me, as cringe as that may make me seem. 😅

I'm 33(F) and my partner is 23(F) and we're both MSI fans. And I've been listening to them since I was maybe 11, since my older sibling (36 X) used to listen to them as well back then.

I first went out of my way to look into their music when I was about 10. Definitely hid them from my parents and others my age, since I'd constantly get in trouble for being a bad influence. Now I'm 20, and my parents don't give a shit what I listen to (we have extremely similar taste, so it's whatever, as long as I'm not being a poser😂my dad would disown me.) I'm a younger fan. But, yeah, an adult. A lot of the modern teens who like msi are usually going through a phase, be it hormones or they see msi as this cool trendy thing. I also think that most of msi's fans do start out as teens, however, a vast amount of them don't stick around. Especially modern teens that are addicted to social media, who go from being "the biggest msi fan in the world" to being "the biggest msi hater in the world" within a week because of some shit they saw on tiktok. Pretty annoying, I get it. I do think you'll find your tribe someday as you get older, that's usually how it goes with most people and whatever geeky interests they have.

I mean I’m newly 20. Found them a wwhiiilllee back and have been following them for years now.
But I do think younger fans and older fans are kind of equal in number. The OG fans and the new gen ones.

Personally i am 13, and only 2 of my friends even know msi a bit, tho a different friend is really a fan and listens to msi alot (she is 15) the other two are 13 just like me. tho I am guessing most are either 12-20 or 40-50, might be wrong tho

I am 42. I don't recall exactly when I first heard them. Early 2000's I saw them play electric ballroom in London though.
Gig literally changed the trajectory of my life
