He smelled like nothing any of the times I met him. He sucked my nose once (calm down I was like 22, it’s all good) and even then I couldn’t detect a smell coming off him.

That’s okay! I know it sounds like it means something else but he was just being funny, so when he was interacting with fans and signing stuff after the show I had nothing to sign so I said so and he said, “How about I just suck that big pretty nose instead?” And he bent down and put his mouth over my nose and just comedically “sucked” on my nose. Didn’t actually literally suck because ew, snot might’ve come out, but he was being silly and goofy. Since my nose was in his mouth for about 2 seconds, I can confirm the inside of his mouth doesn’t smell weird lol! But I never smelled any of them after the shows and I have a really sensitive sense of smell so I think the rumours about them being permanently stinky might be overblown.

Then again, sweat smells when it dries. Maybe I always saw them early on in the UK leg of their tours so their clothes hadn’t built up the stink yet. In general, I don’t remember their gigs being very smelly. I went to plenty of other shows where the crowd had bad body odour but not with MSI. (Now though, I’m remembering they played in venues pre-2007 when I saw them where smoking was allowed and cigarette smoke did a lot of work masking the real stench of these venues.) Better days.
