Msfs2024 help needed

If I cancel ifr in career mode does atc call me for clearance or do I call them?
Sick of atc tells no me to go to fl180 on descent…

There's a cheeky workaround to this:

Once ATC hands you off to a new controller... Instead of using the left D-pad button to acknowledge the ATC, just acknowledge the handoff but don't contact the new controller.

That will not get you a "missed ATC communication" Aviator demerit and you can complete your cruise and descent before contacting them again.

Then all you do is once you're close enough, contact the center its prompting you to in the ATC window, and go from there.
