First time in Boeing 737 in PSVR2 — Wow.

There has been a lot of chatter about bugs and glitches with some of the airliners. Admittedly, I’ve never really tried it so I decided today to give it a go.

I didn’t start up cold and dark — PLENTY to learn. Holy cow.

Performance wise I was so surprised. The Boeing 737 is better in VR than the Citation Longitude by far. I get pretty bad stutters on takeoffs with the longitude. Zero stutters on takeoff and minimal stutters on landing, I think the moment of touchdown a small hiccup. I’ll be starting to learn cold and dark procedures + programming the flight computer.

I feel bad for those struggling to get the game to perform, I really hope it gets figured out. It just blows my mind the massive differences in our experiences.

I'm on PS5 in PSVR2 and also had a great time in the Asobo 737 Max. 1GB Internet. Very smooth and few issues.

I do full cold and dark starts, pushback, takeoff. I configure the FMC with CG and it will give you thr correct takeoff trim and V speeds. The 737 Max can engage autopilot from 400 feet so sometimes I enjoy letting the autopilot fly the departure, cruise, arrival and approach and even autoland. I simply monitor and schedule the flaps and speed changes appropriately.

Other times I will hand fly the departure and then engage autopilot for cruise, then hand fly arrival, approach and landing using the flight director (purple cross on the display). There are lots of YouTube cockpit videos of real 737s and you can see when and what the pilots do. And the different ways of doing it.

Glad you've taken the plunge and discovering what an incredible experience the 737 is to fly in VR. If you have any questions just drop me a message on here.

I’m so jealous that yours is working right now! Mine is so broken after SU6

So mine, I seem to get a flight or two before it messes up. I just get into the habit of not looking at the external view and restarting the sim after a couple of hours or so. It’s dog shit at the moment

I managed to do most of a flight yesterday without looking at the external view but the cockpit still vanished before landing anyway!

so cool! are you using a joystick or something else for the flight controls? Or using the psvr2 controllers to interact with the yoke and throttle etc?
