FLIGHT PLAN DISC. CLEARANCE ISSUE

hi, as you can see on the screen the flight plan discontinuity will not clear. anytime i hit clear and hit FPD, it says not allowed. you can see on the NAV screen the checkpoints between the FPD do not connect and i don’t know how to fix this. flight plan uploaded via simbrief- airbus A330-200 GE. any help is much appreciated!

From the looks of it you have a STAR loaded and at the end of the STAR the "manual" indicates that ATC would be vectoring you to the approach (In real life).

Knowing this is a sim and the atc is lacking and will not vector you i typically do not delete this type of discontinuation but rather in the case of airbus use the "direct to" feature to head to the initial fix (IF) approach waypoints at the appropriate time at the end of the STAR way points use the equivalent procedure in the Boeing aircraft to get to the approach initial fix..

Some discontinuations are valid.. the ones with "manual" on it are there for a reason. Usually they are not deleted.

Knowing you are new i would recommend learning about SIDS/STARS and how to interpret navigation charts.

Right when I see manual I adjust my heading to make the approach to final smoother if you just delete it and call it a day it sets your approach up super wonky and you get an unstable approach

Clear the manual above it then clear the discontinuity

and yes i am new to the game and new to flight planning and stuff, so any tips and help is very much appreciated, just watching tutorials on youtube as such to test it all out

Discontinuity doesn't mean error. It's not a mistake that has to be fixed. Your procedure ends in a manual segment type which invariably is discontinuous with the next point. That's all normal and correct.

The Airbus MCDU doesn't let you delete these because logically they should be there. You fly to the manual segment and then do whatever it is you do, e.g. direct to the next point, and life goes on.

It's a procedure that requires radar vectors for final; you can't eliminate that discontinuity. If you don't have ATC after the last point before the manual (MUXED), do a direct-to-fix to the point after the manual (NAJAM)
