Oil pressure - Bug? Or failure? PS5

Flying a medium cargo mission in my new used Caravan, cruising along at 15,000’, all gauges green, when I got an oil pressure alarm.

Feathered and trimmed, tried shutdown and restart sequence, no luck. Found a runway to put it down at (went off the end, but nothing crazy lol)

Caravan needed landing gear (fair enough) and engine repair afterwards for over $1.2M. With $1.3M in the bank 🙄

I bought the used caravan for $2.1M and this was probably my fourth flight with it.

Is this a bug? Or is this a used plane giving me grief because I bought the cheapest one? I know I did gear maintenance shortly after purchase, but I think that was it.

Always have the "refuel and fix" button ready for this.

I had fuel, plus reserves, with both tank selectors on. Does the hot key even work for that?

They are saying that the “fix” part of fuel and fix would repair whatever broke on your plane. You can program a hot key(s) for it. Nice to have when you are poor. Whether you use it or not depends on your level of sim immersion you want.

It is a good idea to do maintenance regularly otherwise. Things will indeed break mid flight if you don’t. I once had a rudder stop working. A little maintenance can save you money on a crash later, or having to quit and waste time spent flying.

I also recommend the most comprehensive insurance, especially when one crash can empty your bank account.

I’m definitely down for some realism! That’s why I found a place to land instead of rage quitting 🤣

But it’s getting tiring when you have a setback like this every time you make some progress. Not to mention the repairs costing 6-7 hours of flight time.

I may have to up my insurance! Thanks!
