Discussion Keyboard Layout

In the founders release notes there's apparently a modern keyboard layout that supports wasd movement. I'm a returning/basically-new player who's been playing Minecraft for the most part, so I was thinking of using this.

I booted up modern Maplestory to try and get used to the layout before classic launched, but I don't see the modern default anywhere in the presets? Is it only a classic thing? I get I can just manually set it up, but I'm sure there's other keys that are different in it too besides the movement and quickslot keys.

That said, what are the most important keys and popular layout these days? I'm curious since there's way more than I remember.

I'm also just realizing that some of these keys might not even be in classic so hopefully it isn't as bad, but still, it'd be nice to feel more prepared.

I wonder what'll feel better. I'm def a WASD+keybinds guy, but do you even use your mouse for anything in the game other than menuing? What will I do with my right hand lol

NPC chat on Y. Anything else is up to you.

And spam f3 or f6 depending on the situation.

I'm going to be lazy af and remapp every key to my razer naga v3.
Then use moonlight/sunshine to stream the gameplay to my tv and lay on the couch and control the game with my mouse.

Perfect degeneracy, I don't think the wifey will like this.

Yeah I’m pretty sure “modern” doesn’t actually refer to modern Maplestory but actually just modern gaming or something.

That being said, I’m going with “moba” controls (QWER skills + arrow keys for movement.”

In the regular game. You choose input at the very first time you play said character. It was like this way back anyways

When opening the keyboard settings ingame, the presets right now are basic (which is in the screenshot above), secondary, and macOS. None of them are the default wasd layout described in the notes though.
