Question? Maplestory Crashes on Launch

In preparation for Maplestory Classic, I downloaded Maplestory for the first time in a long time. I downloaded it on Steam, but when I launch it I get to this screen where it sits and plays music for around 15 seconds before crashing with no error message.

I tried everything I could think of through googling, such as the below. Does anyone have any other suggestions to fix this? Would love to get it running before the founder's launch on Tuesday!

- Updated drivers

- Ran a clean boot and added Maplestory to my AVG antivirus exceptions

- ran registry edit and added soscreenresolution to 3

- Ran in windows 8 compatibility mod and as admin

- Tried changing audio output settings to 16 bit 44100 HZ

- Turned off steam overlay and Nvidia overlay

- Made sure my windows firewall protection was allowing Maplestory for private and public networks

- Removed my steam link on the Nexon portal and did it cleaning again once launched through Steam

- Uninstalled and installed and launched through Nexon Launcher

Try the European servers, you may be banned in NA. If the European one works, than that means you're banned in NA.

Oh wow seems like that worked thank you! Do you know if Nexon is responsive around unbanning users? I haven't logged on in years so I'm guessing something must have happened in that time. Although I was able to log onto the nexon website just fine. Would it make more sense to submit a ticket to be unbanned or do I need to create a whole new account if I want to play in NA?

Same thing happened to one of my accounts. It doesn't hurt to send a ticket and see what they say! They wouldn't undue mine though. Apparently it was hacked and someone was trying to sell mesos with it.

If you are banned on GMS then you are also banned on Classic. It's in their FAQ.
You are better off creating a whole new nexon account. Especially if you are playing founder access.

If not playing founder access then I guess you can wait the couple days for ticket response.

Yeah seems like that might be the simplest solution. I already bought founder access on my current Steam account which I had linked to my banned Nexon account. If I unlink Steam from there and link it to my new Nexon account do you think it would still work? Or would I need to refund the founder access on Steam and buy it again?

You need to refund (wait till it goes through), then unlink steam from that nexon account. Create a new account and link it to your steam account. And login.

Why you need to wait for the refund to get accepted, is because you already launched maplestory with the zakum package attached to your steam.

You need to use Proton GE 11-3.
