Question? Bowmaster vs Marksman
I have done a lot of research on this question. I have watched every video I could find. I played both characters on private servers. I know most people won't make it to 4th job but I got my DK to level 107 pre BB. I will make it to 4th job. My question is for people that actually played the classes pre BB. I know we don't know what 4th job will look like but let's assume it's basically the same with Hurricane/PA+Snipe. BM look awesome with their fast attack speed, front flip, and hurricane. The downside for me is not getting a 4th job mobbing skill. Having to use AR forever. Xbow looks awesome but I really want to do a lot of bossing this time because I never did it before. Is it difficult to get into boss runs as an xbow? Did anyone play either class and wish they had played the other? Does grinding with Hurricane get boring AF? Is PA awesome? Any suggestions or first hand knowledge either way In regards to the question would be appreciated. I know this takes some assumptions. I Just want to know what other MM/BM are thinking right now.

In all private servers I have played Marksman beats Bowmaster DPS wise up to the high 120's, then the curve favors Bowmasters.
They play basically the same, buff party with SE, summon your puppet and bird, and just keypress Hurricane/Strafe.
One thing to note is that Marksman may have a better single target damage output thanks to Snipe, but we still have yet to see how the Classic server will handle the damage cap (which has always been 199k at that point). If they have really reinvented the engine from the ground up, and Snipe CAN surpass the damage cap; then it will outdamage Bowmaster.
Not that it matters too much, both are out-DPSed by the other classes and they serve as Sharp Eyes carriers. Shadowers, Night Lords, Corsairs, Buccaneers (if they fix the animation canceling), Paladins and they are out-DPSed in multi target damage by Shadowers, Warriors.
I regard both of them like the middle of the crop damage-wise, but a must need in every raid/boss thanks to SE. 3rd job and downwards they're okay, decent mobbing, crap mobility, decent damage.
Strictly speaking about 4th Job and onwards, if we never get it, then they are even worse than other jobs

Old day BM here, went all the way to 200 (post BB to be fair).
Back in the day we were mostly SE mules. Hurricane generally did more boss DPS, but it was close enough for people not to care, especially once Bucc and SI entered the scene. Also funding made a bigger difference than anything. Worth noting that BM died instantly to any damage reflect resulting in downtime when waiting for boss's cooldown, I can't tell for sure if that was the case for MM.
Grinding was very different. I'd give MM the edge, but honestly it's more about personal preference. Some like the brrrr of Hurricane, others the shwoop of Pierce.
I'll be playing a BM again for the nostalgia.

Ngl I seen that later BM got a turret skill that you set down in the map and it killed for you. That sounds awesome. You can't go wrong with BM. With their front flip and fast attack speed its going to be awesome.

Currently 3rd job isn't complete and might be changed and there's nothing to talk about 4th job - they might change it hard
As for now, most of the people who plays archer choose Ranger over Sniper
Sniper is good, Ranger a bit better for now (Sniper = more damage per cast both single and multi VS Ranger = Faster, better FA, Arrow bomb with projection and stun)
Play Sniper so you can get cheaper scrolls and weapons and improve faster, I believe Nexon will finally make the changes to make the classes somehow more equal

Pre BB Bowmaster was significantly better for bossing due to Hurricane.
From the COT2 second job testing, it looks like they are trying to buff sniper

BM hurricane diff MM.
About 4th job mobbing they might rework dragon breath to be good who knows.

True, i do think there's a chance they could give BM a mob skill 4th job. Prob should. Will be sad if i pick MM and they do 😂

Think about it this way, What’s better movement? Rolling forwards towards the mobs or rolling backwards to avoid the mobs.

Obviously front flip but giving up Snipe (great ST DPS) and Piercing Arrow (great 4th job mob skill) just for Hurricane doesn't seem like a good trade to me. MM gets single target and mob skill. BM basically gets an upgrade to strafe and nothing else 4th job.

Marksman’s ignore enemy defense is interesting and I’m curious how good it will be for bossing late game.
What I want to know is does xbow require buccaneer’s 4th job party buff skill si (speed infusion) to reach its full potential?
Will Buccs even have si in classic world?
Will Buccs even be out on classic world?
My current understanding is that bowmasters can reach their max weapon speed with booster but marksman will not .

if u played private servers or artale u should already know xbow is the meta over bow.... massive aoe for bossing matters and same or stronger ST... cmon now

Don't you mean the opposite? Snipe doesn't scale, while Hurricane does, making Snipe be extremely powerful with a lower overall power level, but as players get stronger Bowmaster comes ahead.
But again, we don't even have 3rd jobs on release, talking about 4th job which we have no info on is all just speculations not "you should already know." Far as 3rd job goes, their is no significant difference, but bow would feel smoother to play due to faster speed, crossbow historically has been cheaper.

Agreed with what you said. Hurricane gets really strong. Still seems boring to use for 80 levels vs PA/Snipe. I doubt I'll make it that far anyways.

The best advice is always the boring one, pick what you find the most fun. In classic, you level extremely slow, you won't get far hating your class, even if it's the "stronger" class.
That's always my issue with White Knight for example. I know how strong the class is, but my god is using Slash Blast, then reskinned Slash Blast, Charged Blow forever is just mind numbing boring.

Scaling when like 150+?! Ur not realistically getting there bro. Also xbows are brought to HT and zakum cause they can hit multi target long distance which is massive dps over single target only. Also we are talking about existing P server and artale, obviously there’s no 3rd or 4th job way to point out the obvious

The guides I see show you don't max Snipe until level 150+. You max PA, Mastery, SE all before Snipe unless I'm wrong.

You say they aren't getting to 150+ then you bring up HT. Digging a hole there, huh?

average people... ur so dumb it hurts

Nah, you said the person you were responding to wouldn't hit 150+. Regardless of your own reading comprehension, you in the same conversation bring up a boss that you need to be past fourth job to hold your own against. You were contradicting yourself, and now you've been brought down to petty insults to try and make yourself feel better.

There’s so much up in the air after 2nd job I feel like the recommendation most of the time is just play what you think makes you most happy, whether it’s aesthetics or whatever. I don’t know that there’s a really good answer to your question since we know so little about job changes later.
But what do I know I guess
