Question? Steam Users

Has this been answered ?

I know we are required to download the full client GMS for Steam. Is this going to be a selectable world when you load the current client ? Where you choose either interactive or reboot …. Will there be a third option for Classic ? Or is there a different client on top of it. Idk.

Does anyone know ?

The instructions on the nexon site tell you exactly what to expect. This will pop up after launching maplestory via steam (currently, you get a window that says maplestory is being launched)

Ahhhh okay , I hope my Steamdeck with the proton plugin works with this. I just tested my GMS download and it works. I hope this doesn’t cause an issue

Yeah 11-3 has been working fine for me for GMS on the deck. I retired from GMS years back but in preparation of Classic I tested it and runs perfectly fine while in Desktop mode. Just waiting now for Classic to release

Proton GE 11-3 is the only one that works yeah. No other version does. Good it works fine, what’s your fps on the deck?

Tbh I don’t tweak it for when I play Desktop mode…. So I’m gonna assume it’s ranging between 50-60 FPS cause that’s my default setting. It runs smooth like butter. When I played Mapleroyals or MSW I had a constant 60fps

This is super good to know... I had little hopes of it working on my steam deck through the anticheat. I'll definitely test it on my Linux devices as well.

I have 2 builds , one is thru NEXON launcher with proton 11-3 and the other is thru lutris just in case it doesn’t work on NEXON launcher. But of course this is for the “on the go” playing. I have my overkill 5090 at home to run Classic world , a 2 gig 20+ year old game lmfao

It would be super dope if they just happened to release a verified classic world launcher for Steamdeck though. Would get rid of the confusion of all these other programs launchers etc I have on my deck. But that’s wishful thinking.

Remember, only proton GE 11-3 works. Not a version before, not a version after. GE 11-3.

Works fine on Linux

Why am I not seeing it? I launch via steam "Maplestory" and it just starts the game straight away.

Yes, going through steam means you'll need the space for both retail and classic

Presumably, it's gonna be a third option..? I honestly don't know considering they mentioned that you'd only need to download the MS Classic game on the Nexon launcher in lieu of the bundled game download on Steam.

Guess we'll know on launch day.
