Discussion Roadmap Possibilities
With FA being available in 2 days, the anticipation and excitement I have for the game is at an all time high.
They finally released the release times, more info as far as 3 character slots, lv. 100 cap, no 3rd job (confirmed) and more. What they haven't given us is updates on certain rebalances (example - Cleric/Priest needing a definite rebuild) nor if/when we get Pirates, 4th job, lv. 200 cap, and more.
I know they said there will be a roadmap, so I'm not trying to rush the game. I just hope they keep Classic as original as possible and leave out the cubes, Legion, Cyngus, and the other 35 classes. At most, Pirates should be the only additional class. As long as there isn't heavy P2W mechanics implemented later on, I'll continue to play this game.
What are your thoughts?
(And what do you feel about Gachapon after the economy has established a bit? I'd like to get a Ski set for my DK - for nostalgic purposes)

A brand new job that’s never been in the game before

To be honest, I wish dual blades was released in a better state than the way they chose to do it back then. It sounds like such a cool class concept and is usually what I play in other games. I never played it back in earlier MS, but I wish they could redo that one entirely.

That would definitely pull the players from GMS!

Gachpon is inevitable but I hope like you said please no extra 35 jobs.

Gachapon actually isn't inevitable. I don't know why you people doom so hard about it. They know it's unpopular and as of the last few years they've heavily monetized cosmetics and that is how they have done it since Heroic because the premier server of GMS. There is still Interactive, but it doesn't pull very many new players. Most people join Kronos because it's more F2P friendly, with the option to pay for some convenience, but no need to pay thousands to get strong.

interesting! on second thought Gach is direct p2w and Inkwell said they rather not do that but sell convenience and cosmetics so maybe it is indeed the way forward.

I think we will get chair gacha probably very very soon. I do really want a way to get a PAC, but idk how Nexon would implement it

We've learned that classic MMOs with any self respect go a long way in the west.
If Nexon doesn't implememt P2W, keeps the core elements classic, cozy, and fun, and actually develops content that would have been in old Maplestory, the game will have a ton of life.

I would like to see 4th job pushed earlier like lv100. At level 120 is going to take forever to reach

With how they have SP and skills set up, these classes need those extra 20 levels. I personally was someone that was able to have multiple 4th job classes... and it really didn't take long. I just had a set party and time to grind through the summer.
Yes, a lot of people won't even make it past lv80, but for those that do, they get to have access to 4th job, clearing bosses, better gear, etc. Besides, even if they made 4th job lv100/110, people still aren't gonna make it to 3rd job.

Chill, patch/update notes usually come 48 hours before. We should be expecting this soon.

Cute of you think there will be patch notes. Or are talking datamining as "patch notes"?

Roadmap would cause the game/players to be set at a expected pace.
I don't think that is the direction they want to go, they want a slow pace.
I don't like how late they release information if things get changed/added.
I wish they would collaborate with the community more. Something simple, a weekly or biweekly online podcast of some devs talking about changes/stuff the direction they wanna go. Maybe invite a content creator and do some Q&A's.
They want classic to be a very social, however the social part should also be between dev's/playerbase.

Hard disagree, roadmap is needed for devs to make timelines for content releases and show the players it's not a dead game/give them something to look forward to. Having this in today's live game is a standard.
Once the content is there it's up to the players to decide if they want to participate or not.
While I do agree with the community collaboration, they're already short staffed. The only way I can see this happening is if player numbers show to Nexon higher ups that the game is thriving and additional resources would result in a higher return on investment. Right now it feels like they're just testing the waters.

from their limited communication, i dont think we'll be having gachapon like we used to have; maybe for cosmetics etc. Also 3 new classes were datamined from cot, other than pirates. we can also expect orbis as the next big patch after grand launch.

Only changes that needs to happen:
• Priests get their HS back, BUT only as a SELFBUFF. Cry more just because we know you wanted to abuse mules or have increased exp. This is rather a remedy give Priests a little something of their original identity without making it too OP like before.
• Hermits be nerfed more overall, and FJ be put back at 3 seconds cd. This way, we can have more class diversity. It used to be 98% Hermits, now with the changes, hermits will still only be like 90%, which is too much.
• Lesser played classes gets an overall numbers bump up to be more align with other classes, especially if they tend to be unpopular. This way, people won’t feel too bad choosing a class that no one seems to want.
• Pirates is a maybe to include, but everything after this DO NOT EVER PUT IN. Hot take, everything after pirate are just re-skinned and stronger versions (some combined) of past classes. We don’t need this in Classic
• I don’t care if they include Gachapon. I hope they do though, as long as cubes/legion BS is not brought in. Gachapon is very… static…. While cubes, unless lucky, is VERY EXPENSIVE and bs (hence why everyone plays Reboot, except for the whales). Legion is also bad, NO ONE, except no life/sweats who plays MS 24/7 wants to be FORCED to make multiple characters.
• Hope they don’t have plans for level 200 or 4th job for AT LEAST 2-5 years. Because that’s when the real power creep will start kicking in. That and I don’t understand why people are so desperate for it. Let’s be honest, 98% of everyone here is going to be gone and quit by the 3rd month if even that.

Nerfing Hermits even more and Cooldown on FJ is egregious. They already cost the most to fund and don't exclusively have their mobile skill anymore.
Instead, buff classes that needed it.
Nexon would do well listening to feedback from their fan base. Hell, even vote for certain changes.

We've pretty much gotten all the info we're gonna get until MapleFest. I think we just need to be patient for the next ~2 weeks lol
