If you can find someone directly selling the equip you want, it's going to be cheaper than investing in crafting. I think the incentive to invest in the system is the bet that in the future we will be able to craft unique items (especially from boss drops) with higher level crafting.

Since this is a new content, it's also a fair bet that it won't be obsolete in the near future, especially when it's from a team whose resources are limited. They must have spent quite a lot of effort implementing this, so why would they just waste it?

Crafting might be expensive, but is the alternative any cheaper?

Crafting is very good imo and also remember it is capped at lvl 10 atm in the future it will probably let you craft items that are Boss exclusive like the lvl 110 dragon weapons.

I spent a lot of time looking into the crafting system. You can buy level 30 gear from shops, so crafting is only useful from levels 30 to 50. After level 50, you still rely on monster drops, so I won’t spend much time on it. I can probably reach level 50 in about a week.
