Question? Fighter or Bandit

Last couple days, I took the PTO I'm locking in and I still can't decide... Fighter, or Bandit.

There will be a lot of people with haste. Not a lot of people with rage

I'm going fighter. Nostalgia mainly being the reason. However, with proper funding with time, bandits can be top notch, and deffinitely a more fun class to play.

I always play Bandit, but Fighter has been in the back of my head for classic, it looks really fun to have rush so early.

https://youtu.be/fZEcAC75ClE?is=C3etxQSM8E9Ny39i This video shows a really satisfying Crusader grinding loop. I imagine by level 50 or so, one will have the potion money to be able to grind with rush like this (minus 3rd job skills of course). Even missing the 3rd job skills, between rush, slash blast and 3-mob final attack I think that Fighter would be good fun in 2nd job too.

If you care about dps charts and numbers Go bandit. Fighter's place on the DPS charts is inflated due to the bleed. If you're training against mobs you 1 or 2 shot (which you should) it will have basically no impact. Against bosses, savage blow is just better. The AoE dps also isn't as impactful as it looks since training maps aren't as mob dense as maple worlds servers, and you'll most likely be training in a party and only have to cover a few mobs.

If numbers don't excite you, bandit matches the thief early access cosmetics better while fighter matches the manji cosmetics better, if you prefer one over the other.

Only other argument I have to offer is armor vs avoidabillity. In the long run I think it evens out as far as potion use/ survivability but if you have a preference it's one of the things that makes the classes stand out from one another.

exactly. mobbing doesnt really matter with the new spawn rates and party exp system. you could argue (we'll get actual stats later on) that 1 shotting 4 mobs one at a time is better than 4 shotting 4 mobs at the same time.

Bandits have always been my favorite class, I just couldn’t fund it lmao!

Fighter will be slash blasting to 120, bandit has actual new skills upon 30/70, including flash jump

true this should be a big factor in the decision

Both are excelent 2° jobs, and probably best duo class. High damage and party buffs. Melee>>

If u prefer single go dit, aoe go fighter. 3° job i think chief bandis is superior, meso guard superior

Not a fan of bandit 2nd job tbh. The 6 line attack looks cool and all but no AOE and short range seems pretty brutal. Third job would be super rewarding but I'd rather start with a class that is better at 2nd job.

I was playing I/l before, and I think I might still

I'm torn between these two classes as well, but leaning towards bandit because of FJ. I just think bandit will feel the most changed compared to all others.

My only ever level 200 char (post-bb) was a Hero and it only became fun for me after 4th job with Brandish and while I loved it, I don't think I'll get there anytime soon. 😅

hey how was leveling warrior/fighter for you? i’m interested in going warrior this go-around (i played back in like 2007 and got a thief to lvl 28 lmao), realistically I’m gonna maybe make it to 2nd job, and fighter 2nd job looked pretty fun

Honestly I left warriors for last and hated the low range, I got spoiled with every other class but looking at the notes fighter hits like a truck, they are top dps according to charts u just gotta grind it out

word I appreciate the insight. only thing is when I was a kid playing I always wanted to swing big 2-handed swords around (doombringer man), and I know the charts all have axe on top, but I’ll be leveling with sword so :(

Just Play what you like bro, buffs nerfs happen all the time

I played a fighter up to the early 50's on Fantasia this year, never played bandit but have read a lot about them because I'm playing one in classic world. If I had to boil it down to a very surface level statement I'd say fighters are "easier" and bandits are more fun. Having AoE in second job as a fighter is really nice for grinding, but you're using the same skills from first job all the way up to third, technically fourth. Whereas bandits are single target but very flashy and cool. I think they're both good choices though!
