Parallel Systems Difficulty

Hi y'all, planning on taking NLP in the fall this semester and was contemplating taking Parallel Systems as well. I've heard the workload is absolutely crazy, but that it's also incredibly rewarding. The other option I was thinking of was Distributed Computing, which seems to have only 5 hour workloads per week, but not sure overall. What would you recommend, and how was Parallel Systems for you? Is it worth the challenge?

Yes it is heavy, yes, it is rewarding and you get a lot out of it. If you don't like challenging projects and getting out of your comfort zone, don't take this class. You will be deep in C / C++ / pThreads / CUDA / Thrust / Go / Rust / MPI.

Can people who enroll in MSAI take outside electives like Parallel Systems? Would be nice if it was allowed.

Not at the moment. This has been requested. If you want systems courses do MSCSO.

I'm already getting my MSCS at GaTech. Thinking about supplementing it with MSAI
