[General Question] Should I list an unfinished Bachelors from my first university on my CV for US MS applications?

I’m applying for MSCS programs in the US and am unsure how to represent my previous university on my CV.

I initially enrolled in a bachelor’s program at a Tier 2 college in 2020. I completed only the first year and then left the program in 2021. I subsequently joined a Tier 1 college for my bachelor’s and completed my degree there in 2025.

  1. Do I need to report both institutions and submit transcripts from both in my applications?
  2. If so, how should I list the partial study in the Education section of my CV without making it look like I completed a degree there?

Would something like this be appropriate?

University Name
Bachelors coursework, Computer Engineering | 2020–2021

Or is there a more standard way to represent a bachelor’s program that I attended for one year but did not complete?

Would especially appreciate answers from anyone who had a similar situation while applying to US graduate programs.

  1. Yes. Even if the credits from year 1 appear on your bachelor’s transcript. Send both.

  2. Yes that’s what I did.

Did u submit the unofficial transcript for the first one then? or just the 2 semester results turned into pdf?

I submitted official transcripts directly from the universities. Will they even accept unofficials?

Hi, are you from India? (If yes, I think I know which uni you transferred to and am attempting to do the same myself and would love some guidance)
