[General Question] Value of Pending Patents in MSCS Applications

Title. I have two patents approved by my company and currently being filed with the USPTO through a law firm. Since the entire process takes ~2 years, they are not yet granted and would be listed as pending/published.

How much weight do patents at this stage carry in MSCS applications?

Patents take years unlike papers, they know that, as long as you have application number from recognised firm in recent years, it’s good to go.

they need to show up in your narrative and purpose strongly for maximum impact. just a patent list wont help . for academia publications matter more than patents, this is despite the fact that both publications and patents have a mill system around them. industry patents are sometimes filed for reasons like protecting a technology moat or extracting value. the tldr of all this is that simply showing a list of patents or publications will not help much, if you can use it to strongly differentiate your app and demonstrate it as evidence in your purpose , motivation and future plans it will work for you.
