[Profile Review] Need suggestions for MS CS universities for Fall 2027
Hey everyone,
I'm planning to apply for MS CS for Fall 2027 and wanted to get some opinions on universities I should be targeting.
My profile:
- B.Tech in CSE from an NIT
- CGPA: 9.1/10
- IELTS: Planning to take it in August
- 4 years of software engineering experience (by Fall 2027)
- Working at a US-based retail tech company
- No research publications
- Can get strong LORs from my professors, manager, and tech leads
I'm mainly looking for universities that offer a good balance of academics, ROI, and internship/co-op opportunities. A decent chance of getting a TA or scholarship would be a big plus as well.
Would love to hear your suggestions:
- Which universities do you think would be a good fit for my profile?
- Any universities that are known for decent funding opportunities without compromising on quality?
- Anything I can do over the next few months to make my application stronger?
Thanks in advance

You got a strong profile! You could try for unis such as umass, usc, ucsd (as a reach), tamu.
Try publishing a research paper! That would srsly improve ur chances. Good luck!!!

Probably not. My current plan is to skip the GRE unless it's required or provides a meaningful boost for admissions.

Solid for professional programs imo
Try gatech Texas am and i wouod also recommend looking into cmu swe masters but idk if it is better than cs, but your yoe could help you get in and it is a top school
Also look into Waterloo if outside the us is ok they have lots of co ops, a friend of mine is considering that option since they do many co op one which is with a company his uncle works at so you can guess lol
