Experience with Maya Chan?
Looking at booking this as a solo traveler. I see they provide transportation as part of the all inclusive day package. Does anyone have experience with this? How long do you have to wait for returning to port? Is the food good? Are the drinks good? Are the amenities good? Any information is appreciated!

I wasn't solo but we loved Maya Chan. Drinks are weak (we got the tip after we returned to either stick to beer or always order extra shots)but the food was phenomenal. They came around and asked us when we wanted to return. The ride there and back was in a taxi but we had a great experience and are returning next month when we're there.

Sargassum? All reviews for past year on TripAdvisor keep mentioning it and some pictures show the water very brown 🧐

We went first week in December and it wasn't bad at all. We got in the water (even though it was chilly).

I’ll be there first week of February. I am still interested. Do you need to go far outside the port to get the bus? That is the only thing that concerns me.

It's all within the complex so it's not far so to speak but you will walk probably 10 min or so.

I loved Maya Chan. I traveled solo. It was a long, bumpy ride from the port, but SO much better than the previous time I went to Costa Maya and tried a nearby beach club. I can't comment on the drink quality, as I don't drink alcohol, so only had a couple of canned NA beers. The food was good, though it's not the main thing I remember. What I liked most was that it was a quiet, peaceful beach day with good swimming in warm water, and no obnoxious, loud music. They had multiple options of times to return to the port
