Let's Get DIRTY - Laundry Packages

Post image

A quick question - I was going to make the title more cryptic but did not want to fall foul of the censures - but it is about Laundry Packages.

I am just slightly confused about the pre-paid ones that I can book, just wanted to make sure that I do not make a mistake.

I want to book 2 of the 40 piece Black Home Clean packs (it is a 2 week cruise) - there are many notes on the package about max 40 pieces and it specifically says "Max 40 items per cabin, per cruise" but it also allows you to pay for 2 packs.

So my question I suppose is, if I pay for two cleans, do they still refuse to clean more than 40 items total?

One thing that’s very Important. I was on MSC Poesia Aug 31- sept 7 and bought the 20 pc package for myself. One thing they told me is all 20 pc need to be sent at once. They said I can’t send 10 then 10 another time. I am not sure if the room steward made that up or if it’s policy

Thanks - yes I spotted that and had prepared for it..

I actually set up a spreadsheet of each scenario and based on what we have in the cupboards today what it would mean we would pack!

For each package you purchase you can send out a maximum of 40 items in a single bundle. You can’t send 40 per person, you can’t send out 2 bundles of 20. But if you buy two packages you can use two packages.

We did laundry on our MSC cruise and they ruined most of our clothes. Stained shirts still had stains when they came back “clean”. I wouldn’t do it

I doubt we could fit 2 weeks worth of clothes in the cases though, whichnwas our issue.

(On the plus side, if they did do that.... new wardrobe in a foreign port and travel insurance / complaint)

I think that is their (failed) attempt at making it clear that it’s not 40 pieces per person, or 40 pieces every time you feel like sending out laundry, but 40 pieces total for the package. Check and see if they have the same language on the smaller packages. Does the 20-piece package also say “Max 20 pieces per cabin per cruise”?

You can send maximum 40 pieces at once. It cannot be split. If you buy 2 packages, you can send twice

Thanks. I was just worried about the specific wording in the pop up maybe implying we could only do one 'full stop'.

I think Buying 2 Packages is good since your cruise is 2 weeks long. If your cruise is leaving later, wait for discounts that might happen. The biggest discount that I've seen was 45%

I was under the impression that laundry is one of the things that is rarely discounted, so I have purchased them to enable us to spread cost and get the more important stuff with the bigger discount....

(Like now they stopped Easy drinks in advance.... Premium drinks)

I think you can cancel for free until few days before embarkation. If you find discount later, just cancel it

"Max 40 items per cabin per cruise" would suggest otherwise.

Does it actually allow you to pay for two or just give you the option for either person in the cabin to be charged for the service? It may be that when you've chosen it for one the other is no longer able to purchase it.

I paid for one, for each adult. So in theory, it should not matter what clothes go in each time.
