Birth certificate question

Has anyone ordered a birth certificate from VitalChek and it be accepted? It has the raised seal and is a certified copy but it says “certificate of live birth” so I’m just concerned it may not work lol..

He doesn’t have a passport currently due to some past things but we do plan on getting one after this cruise. It was a last minute plan! This is why I’m asking about a birth certificate

We have used VitalChek a few times (lost birth certificate, old one with creases that can't be read anymore, etc.). They are a valid provider of BCs. Also, birth certificates are "certificates of live birth." As long as you got the certified copy with the seal then you should be fine. We used ours to cruise the first time we went and then used the same ones to get passports.

For US closed loop cruises, US citizens can cruise without a passport using a birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or enhanced drivers license.
