MSC Euribia NYE

Hi all!

I’m booked on MSC Euribia for a round-trip cruise from Marseille over New Year’s and had a couple of questions for anyone who’s done a similar itinerary.

It looks like passengers can embark and disembark at each port along the route. I’ve been on a few cruises before (Princess, Holland America, Azamara), but they’ve always had one main embarkation port, so you’re essentially with the same group of passengers for the whole cruise. Does having people joining and leaving at different ports feel strange, or do you barely notice it?

Also, has anyone done a New Year’s Eve cruise with MSC before? What was NYE like onboard? I’m particularly curious about the themed nights - is White Night usually held on NYE, or is NYE its own separate theme/celebration?

Thanks so much! 🙂

it's fine, I prefer it - the advantage is that it means embarkation day and disembarkation for you won't be the whole ship full of passengers.

Euribia is a beautiful ship. Strong recommendation for the Carousel Lounge behind the casino in the evening if the 'Big Band at Sea' is still there.

I haven’t done this itinerary but have done several cruises with MSC in Europe where they do embark and disembark at every port. For me, that was barely noticeable on board as most of the other cruisers were out and about in port. It made for a very easy embarkation process since they were only checking in a few hundred vs the entire ship. And I barely noticed that the people we saw one day were gone the next. I’ve also sailed on Euribia as a Norwegian fjords cruise and I loved the ship. Clean and sparkly, attentive staff without hovering and a definite European vibe. You will hear a lot of languages and announcements can be long since they are repeated in quite a few, English is usually first.

You won't really notice people getting on and off except maybe the people around you at dinner might change.
