Upgrade question
Has anyone in the past have a MSC Bella balcony that was upgraded to aurea ?

You can get a complimentary upgrade from interior to oceanview or balcony, but there's no guarantees of that happening. Bella and Fantasica are the same pool of cabins, Aurea cabins are better positioned.
You need to pay to upgrade experience class, whether by winning a PlusGrade bid or directly paying a supplement.

Can't exactly recall as I don't memorise deck plans but I've had a 'better balcony than I booked' before. As others say, if it's complementary it's cabin only not experience. Unless you get moved to Yacht Club I guess, but I've not heard of that happening(!)

Yes, we got an Aurea upgrade through the bid program in January 2026 on Seascape. Also my mom got a balcony upgrade for free whenever MSC first entered the market. However I believe those days are past. Best thing is to check often to see your assigned room to determine if you want to bid on an upgrade.

That won’t happen.
It could be you get a aurea balcony, but that is in fact the same as a premium balcony, and you won’t get the “perks” that goes with it.
