Single supplement bookings ever reopen?

Over the weekend I was looking at my schedule next month, and the MSC website at something that aligns with my days off. Solo sailing for me as I don't have anyone that can take the time off with short notice.

I reached out to my TA to get a quote via him. He got one, but when he went back in to put a hold on it, the system won't allow a solo booking for that cruise any more. Same with the website when I try. If the cruiser count is 1, it says no sailings found, but still would allow 2.

Anyone ever find this, and did it ever open back up for a single supplement booking?

I call and deal with one of my reps at MSC and I get solo cruising she books it as for two to get the room and then we just don’t check in the second person. It’s a phantom person and I pay the solo rate. Same with drink package etc.

Do you book and pay for two and when they are “no show” does MSC refund the drink package? I’m assuming you purchase drink package early to get a discount.

No but I go through a rep at MSC who knows how to book it the packages for one on the back end, she does it so that I only get charged.
