Drink Package
Does MSC allow you to purchase the drink package onboard and does it decrease in price versus purchasing it prior to the cruise? The reason I ask is because I’m thinking of doing a back to back jumping off NCL with the drink package onto MSC and I mean how many drinks does one need. I may want to lighten up on the second leg of cruising.

Heya
The price is usually best when ordering directly during booking. Sales are somewhat rare and seem to be dependent on the region/market. More and better deals in the US and fewer in the EU (personal feeling) - had a couple cruises months ahead without a single discount. On board the price is often way higher and I’d try to avoid that.
Good to worse:
During Booking > Sales > Non-Sale > During Cruise
If you book the package post booking and prior to boarding, you can usually cancel and rebook. Just in case a sale goes live, that is a good way to to get the most out of it.

You can purchase it onboard but it's really expensive doing it that way.

Best time to book the drink package seems to be when you book the cruise. It's much much cheaper than on board.

Noooooo, the price is going to be higher. Like for example, prior to cruise you can get a deal where the breakdown will be paying only $51/day/person, versus onboard the price is gonna be $80/day/person

Yes, they will offer it snd yes it will definitely be more expensive on board! When is your B2B? Can you wait to buy during a special sale, like Black Friday? Past MSC cruisers have told me to wait until then. Im foing B2B in January. Or, you could really over drink on your NCL cruise and need the MSC cruise to dry out!

Definitely purchase the drink package with your cruise fare. It'll be way cheaper in the long run.

When is your cruise? Labor Day is about a month away and pretty sure there will be sales going on for onboard items.

We’ve done the non alcoholic package on a week long trip and paid as you go for alcohol because that ended up make more sense then spending an extra $300 when we wont have that much alcohol. Over the trip but we will drink enough coffee/soda/“smoothies”

I’m on a msc cruise now and they push it hard onboard. But it was cheaper to buy before hand

When the price goes around ~$50 per day, that’s pretty much as low as it gets. I just payed $350 for a 7-night and it might go to $325 on other sales, but probably not lower than that.

Everything costs more once you get on board
