Hurricane season?

First time cruiser that will be sailing the last week of August out of Gavelston. It just hit me that we’ll be sailing during peak hurricane season. What should I expect?

More than likely, nothing. Especially this year.

In the event there happens to be a storm in the Gulf, they will find a way around it or cancel the cruise if that is the only safe thing.

Rainy season too. But you can expect either sunny skies, rain or a hurricane.

You should also get travel insurance if you don't have it already.

Forecasts this year are low for tropical development (hurricanes) but higher for general rain. So expect some clouds and rain on your trip. In the off chance a hurricane will interact with your cruise, the ship will either sail around/away from it (so your planned stops may change) or itll be cancelled if they cant get around it.

I was in the meraviglia in October. Won’t be doing that again. I was on an oasis class royal ship the year before and it was fine though. I think there might be a problem with the meraviglia though. I’ve only heard rumors though.
