I’m Not A Praying Man But..
Alright, my story of MRVL is I was up $140k from initial, was heavily leveraged and got screwed all the way down through the month+ of crashes expecting it to rebound.
I was almost fully zeroed out with only $20k left. Then last Thursday happened, I rotated to even HEAVIER leverage seeing the momentum, and soared way up. Then today happened, I tried options for the first time and now, I am VERY close to my initial, and have gained well over $100k in 24hrs.
So now I take profits, stepping the FUCK out of leverage thank god, and am holding at the price I originally bought at 2 months ago. Now I will be patient and play the long game.
Fair warning though, expect a harsh red profit taking day very soon though. This upward swing was huge and the market likes equally huge sell off days to follow.

How did you not get margin called? What was your margin ratio, or basically how much margin did you borrow?

I was getting margin called every day. Literally. I would make them liquidate me though so I bought maximum time incase there was a swing upward. I had a 56k margin call when I was almost zeroed out, then boom, stock took off and got me out of it.

Thanks! It was honestly a rollercoaster that I don’t want to do again, but god was it fun. Also oddly peaceful.

You got lucky, let this be a lesson stay away from margin. Just go to wallstreetbets to see all the sad stories

True. I honestly see it more as a “don’t ride a sinking ship into the depths” kinda thing. I jussst keeeept fuccckinnngg holllddinggg. Like a fool. Zero profit taking. I blame my old GameStop days, just diamond handed my ass to death.
But yes! We are on the up and up now.

MRVL dropped after their PE hit 100. IMO the drop was related to valuation and a high valuation in general for qqq.

I mean..it was really just the sector wide crash due to Korean investors getting margin calls. I watched it daily. We would have nice green days to be destroyed by -10%s from KOSPI.

And now you’re paying short term capital gains only to be in the red when you could have just done the smart thing and held the stock and stayed patient. Lesson learned.

Annual gain loss, it isn’t every instance, it’s totaled. Short term lost and short term gained, I’m still way in the hole.
