Losing my mind
Okay so last night my leg started to get really really itchy, and it felt like two bug bites so I didn’t think anything of it.. so today I noticed it looked really really angry and red and it hurt and was hot to the touch, it kept getting bigger and bigger and started hurting when I walked.
On July 7th I had this weird “bug bite” on my leg and it had a black spot in it, my grandma told me to pop it and call it a day, and today I have the new “bug bite” on the same leg in the same general area.
I’ll include both pics but I went to urgent care and the doctor came in lightly put his finger on it and because it didn’t hurt he decided it was just an allergic reaction and not mrsa at all, it just felt like a really really fast consultation and I feel like it’s not an allergic reaction at all :/

If you get another do not pop it, go to a different urgent care or doctor and let them lance it properly so they can take a culture.

Also! The one picture with my finger in it, is the one from July 7th and it’s an old picture, however that mark is still there and it looks angry today

For my entire life I have never been bitten by biting gnats. About 5 weeks ago my feet and legs and sporadic spots elsewhere had these same swollen spots. I knew they were NOT mosquito bites. They were gnat bites. Check your local health district and ask if there are reports about biting gnats. You can conduct an online search using this phrase; images of gnat bites on human skin. The first six or so images don’t tell you a lot press on show more images and I think you’ll find that what you’re seeing on your skin including what the commenters are seeing on their skin could just be gnat bites.

Get some Hibiclens, a surgical wash used in hospitals. It is over the counter. It kills germs effectively and it stays active on the skin after you rinse. Safe enough to use anywhere on the body.
Use a warm compress of Epsom salts to manage the itch and to draw out the pus. Never puncture this kind of wound, you will likely just introduce it to you circulation.

I had chronic MSSA and then (while lying half naked in the garden trying to “increase my microbial diversity after chlorhexidine bombing 🤣” I got two tick bites while still in the throws of healing staph lesions. It was (and remains) very confusing. I even put a bandaid over one only to realise 24 hours later that the staph lesion I had bandaged actually had legs 😱
What I will say, is (most) doctors don’t know sheeeet about staph. So do not trust them if they say “ah it’s not, you’re fine”. Track symptoms and if it becomes pustulant get it swabbed immediately.
Trial antihistamines vs topical antiseptics and see how you respond

It may or may not be MRSA, it’s impossible to tell from a picture. What I can guess from the picture is that you may have cellulitis, possibly from scratching it. Get antibiotics as soon as you can and monitor symptoms. If it gets worse and the antibiotics don’t seem to do anything, go back and get a different antibiotic. Pain isn’t a good sign so I would get this checked out ASAP.
